OK so if I want the stock theme do I want to download the "previous build" file?...the one ending in 1925?. I am reading this that the file ending in 1810 is the carbonite themed version, that correct?

The latest Stock Build is 1810. Carbonite is listed in its own section below. Going to make up some dividers to make the OP a bit more user friendly.

Another possible bug. File browser won't request super user access and I can't access files. It shows the root files but when I click on them it says they are empty

Edit: actually sorry I can access most parts such as /system/app but if I try to delete an apk it won't let me. It gives me a toast message "could not delete file" The only file that shows up empty is /data

Which file browser are you using. Carbonite has a AOSP browser that will not allow root access. The CM browser was replaced with that. Try using Root Explorer of ES File Browser. Both will allow Root access and be able to view and access files in the /data. The reason you cannot see it right now is because the Program wasn't granted access to view those files.

Ahhhh gotcha. I thought it was going to request SU access. Sorry about that thanks :)

Flashed last night & am loving it so far! Great build, smooth, fast, & efficient. Only thing I've noticed so far is some issues with chrome. I'm getting a lot of force closes. I downloaded the AOSP browser from Google Play & it seems to be working fine with the exception of no incognito mode. Even had a reboot in the middle of using Chrome. Mildly annoying but haven't noticed anything else malfunctioning.... I came from the Eclipse 4.3 build with the dark gapps & I do miss the darkened theme of those gapps.... Also, is there any fonts available for 4.4 yet?

How does the signal strength on this ROM compare to the stock kernel? I'm not asking about how many bars but the difference in the actual dB number in a controlled location for you.

Thanks.

Ok only complaint I have is not sure if I'm digging the hangouts as the default sms app. There's no option I see to attach contacts. Not even if I go thru the people app & share the contact there's no option to choose sms... Any thoughts?

Just flash some other gapps package without hangouts. I recommend the micro gapps. It doesn't install any unnecessary google apps. All the it comes with is Gmail, Google Calendar (replaces stock/AOSP Calendar), Google Play services, Google Search and Google Text-to-Speech. This means hangouts wont replace the stock sms app.

Heres a link if you would like to look at it:

The gapp package I linked below Carbonite has updated Playstore, Hangouts and Chrome and they are from Blacked out. Also it will keep the stock Browser and MMS available. Try it out and let me know how it goes.

Just install 8sms if you want aosp messaging with additional tweaks. You can make it the default app with one setting switch.

Official carbon nightly builds for KK were just released on the carbon website.

I can't copy and paste right now for some reason, but I have the link...

So if I were to download those gapps from the carbonite source do I just flash those in TWRP like normal? Wipe?

Well you already flashed a set that deleted MMS and stock browser that is included in the ROM. If you reinstall the ROM then flash those recommended gapps all will be fine.

Ok so basically just redo the whole install process. Factory reset, wipe, & install rom with the new gapps file...

Yes... You can try a dirty flash to keep what data you have on there but I always start out fresh and tibu everything.

These builds, both of them are amazing.

The only issue I've had so far, is Dolphin Browser force closes, when I................. wait for it........................  click on the Carbon Team's website!  I think it is a conspiracy!!!

Other than that, loving these.  I've fallen into a bit of crack-flasher-itis lately with all of the great work on these ROMs.  At this point, I'm going to focus on Carbon(s) and set this beast up like I'm keeping it.  Well done.

Offer still open as a tester, if needed.

Works fine for me. Is the version you are using included in with the gapps or from a backup?
