Rooted, but not unlocked.

Running Rage 1.4 through Safestrap.

I was switching between stock ROM and RAGE (custom ROM) in Safestrap so that I could wipe cache, dalvik, and reset it due to some performance lagging issues.  I wasn't paying attention and very well may have had the stock ROM activated and wiped it.

When I try to boot up my phone it shows the Rage logo, then the Safestrap menu page for about 5 seconds.  Safestrap status is "disabled" and neither of the two buttons "Recovery" and "Continue" are responsive.  After about 5 seconds it goes to a blank screen and the phone shuts off.

I tried pressing the power button + volume buttons to go into recovery mode, but it only powers on and produces the same results as above.

Any suggestions? Tips? Tricks?

What you need to do is use RSDLite or Sam's House of Moto and the latest FXZ file to flash stock back to your phone...... Then you will be good to go.....

But please do yourself a favor and read read read and fully understand the process prior to running..... And ask questions before doing anything......:)

Usage:

o) Your phone MUST be in AP Fastboot mode.  Try holding volume down and pressing the power button when the phone is off.

In reading the directions I came to what I think may be a snag.  In order to ensure the phone is in AP Fastboot mode I need to enter the recovery menu, but when I hold the Power + Volume Down buttons it just brings me to the Rage loading screen, then the Safestrap menu, and then shuts down.

Yeah, when I do that (charged battery, phone off) it launches the Rage M screen, then Safestrap menu screen, then shuts off.  I'll try to proceed with the reinstallation of the stock ROM and keep my fingers crossed.

You need to have the phone UNPLUGGED from the computer, otherwise it will reboot into the OS every single time.  If you deleted your stock ROM, then SS is functionally gone, too.  You won't be able to flash or restore the stock ROM, without RSDing it.

That's a mistake I make often. It's always the simple things.... Well almost always.

Yeah, I can't count how many times I've done it.  "Stupid, phone, why won't you stay off!"  Ohhh, cord's in.

I've followed the instructions for

You need to have the phone UNPLUGGED from the computer, otherwise it will reboot into the OS every single time.  If you deleted your stock ROM, then SS is functionally gone, too.  You won't be able to flash or restore the stock ROM, without RSDing it.

Can you expand on RSDing it?  (I'm doing this for the first time, so bear with me...)

I've installed all the required files/apps from the link in post #2, and the other files associated with it.  So, in my HouseOfMoto folder I opened HouseOfMoto.bat and HouseOfMoto.sh via Terminal (I'm on a Mac), and I hit a dead end.

When I open the .sh file I get this:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

and don't know what to enter; nothing seems to happen when I type in stuff.

When I open the .bat file I get this:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

and nothing happens when I type.

I'm pretty much out of ideas here.

RSDing is just using HoM or RSD to flash the phone, pretty much like you're doing. As for the issues you're running into, I'm not really sure what to tell you. I'm not great with the technical stuff yet, hopefully someone that is smarter will chime in.

You can't use the bat file on Darwin machines - it's a windows thing.

And since you're actually using HoM, your best bet is to probably re-read the HoM thread again.  You're missing a step.

I've reread the instructions in Post #1 on the HoM page and still seem to be coming up with the same result.

In that screenshot, it says FXZ: and nothing is listed.

Please read the extracting the FXZ part again and make sure that yours matches what is there.

I followed the directions regarding extracting the FXZ parts and this is what I originally had (still do after rereading it all again) in my HoM folder:

lol oops- I took a second lookk ath e .sh pic - you need to enter 1, of course - that's your device, eh?

From the HoM thread:

o) On first run:
Enter your device model (xt926, xt875, etc)

And when you hit 1 the phone is connected again, right?

Not sure what is going on - best go to the HoM thread
