[Bionic] Dock Modes Download / Apk / Zip?
#1

I know there are other dock modes - I presume they were removed from the ROM to clean it up.
I'm not sure there is a thread anymore for this ROM so was just wondering if the modes are downloadable or available from someone as a flashable zip or apk file
Thanks in advance!

When it goes in the dock, it prompts you for what dock appearance you'd like - clock mode, alarm clock, office, music and it can remember it if you like
I know when I was on stock ICS (232) there were more options - so, I just assumed sos stripped some of them out.
I attached a screenshot

If you are talking about webtop I don't think he could fit that into blackhole. Due to system partition size issues.
no, I wasn't talking about webtop (which is actually included and runs fine)

he could have fit it no problem lol it's unbelievably debloated...but what he did was take out everything that was considered unneeded so he prob did take that out so I'll see if I can make a zip for it
That would be A*W*E*S*O*M*E!! I love the BH ROM

If I look in the 232 ICS leak zipped file in 7zip - there are a few different dock*.apk items and dock*.odex items
Not sure which is which and don't know what the .odex extension is.

I'll just list the ones in stock:
Office
Bedside
My Music
Charge Only
Others --> Alarm & Timer
Interestingly under "others" it says click to see other downloaded dock applications - so, not sure if they can actually be downloaded. If so, I haven't found it.
Bedside is the best one IMO

ALL thanks go to T3T3droid for taking the time to work through it with me - but, together, we figured it out. And by we, I mean him.
It's actually fairly simple, but took a minute to do correctly. Basically, there is an *.apk missing from the system/app folder in the custom ROM (Blackhole and others). The apk is called smartdock.apk.
In my case, I am using safestrap (at the time of this post v3.04).
- I booted into safestrap recovery and enabled my stock system (previously known as the UNsafe side). Rebooted.
- I installed ES file explorer, however you could use another root explorer. Menu, settings, root settings, enable all four root options
- Navigate to system/apps, find smartdock.apk
- Touch and hold, scroll down to permissions, make note of the check boxes
- Touch and hold, copy smartdock.apk to SD card
- Reboot to recovery, enable custom ROM
- Reboot
- ES file explorer again - navigate to smartdock.apk on SD card, copy
- Navigate to system/app folder (make sure root options are enabled as well)
- Paste smartdock.apk
- Touch smartdock.apk and hold, scroll to permissions, change to look like it the settings you wrote down (first column all three checked, second column only top box checked)
- Reboot

I'm having the same issues, but this fix doesn't work for me. I feel that my phone has lost the ability to dock all together. Even the apps that are supposed to force the phone into Car/Desk dock mode don't work. Any thoughts?
What ROM are you running?
If you are using a CM or AOKP ROM (any AOSP rom) - dock modes aren't likely there.
The dock modes are only in Blur based (motorola based) ROMs
So even if you add the apk above, won't work.
