heart broken

The tragic events this morning in Connecticut is the last straw for me....
We have seen way too many events similar to this in recent history....
As a parent it breaks my heart to hear of so many small children whose lives have been destroyed.....
All because of a infantile egomaniac who had his panties in a bunch.....
My thought and prayers go out to all the families in Newton Connecticut....

I live about 25 min away from the school...between this and the home invasion in Cheshire CT, it makes it hard to believe that our state was one of the 13 orig colonies that stated "All men are created equal"...well you know what this @$$ hole WASNT!! Killing a child is the ULTIMATE SIN....he got off way too easy :'( I wish the best to all the families...
... What kind of coward kills children ...... And then kills himself....

Not sure if many of you know, but for the duration of the "half-mast" flag, most people are putting a burning candle in their window to show their grief. I don't ask a lot from people but I am asking that all of you do this as well, especially those of you that are parents.
What happened today was clearly an unthinkable act and is inexcusable. Thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the fallen, and to the families of everyone else effected.

It's so easy to say, "My heart/prayers goes out." How about this: Here's the address for Sandy Hook Elementary School: 12 richardenson Drive, Sandy Hook, CT 06482.
Take five minutes. Sit down with your kid. Write a letter. Draw a picture. Make a card. Send it to them. Tell them you're praying for them. Tell them you're so sorry they're hurting. Tell them you love them. Don't just say you love them on Facebook. LOVE them for real. ... Make your love tangible.
Wise words. Hug your kids, remember the victims. And don't ever stop trying to make this world a little better.

You know I used to hear these stories and just think 'Well its sad but things happen' well.. I had a baby boy 8 months ago and now have another on the way and I tell you it REALLY changes how you think about things..I have not been able to stop thinking about this since yesterday and it really makes me wonder about things like Home School etc.. its a horrible thing that happened and yes he got off way too easy... someone needed to take it to him Hostel style...Being a father of 2 handsome boys, this tragedy hit me extremely hard today. I found myself sitting in front of the TV crying quite a few times today. It's tough to imagine something like this happening but it did. All we can really do is say prayers for the families of the lost.

Its amazing how your views on certain things change dramatically once you become a parent....

All teachers & school personnel should be required to not only carry, but also know how to use a gun. Maybe then these cowards would think twice before walking into a school & doing something stupid.

That doesn't solve the problem, that gives teachers the ability to do something stupid. To go into a job that in their eyes they aren't paid enough for and with punky kids that make their job harder with a gun would just worsen the situation. Complicated issue, complex solution.

Exactly. That isn't the school I would want my child going to.

I agree, because not only was there a study on this, but it worked, and was scientifically proven in other situations.. Facts are facts... But in the end we can't all be prepared for every crazy person in the world.... My heart still goes out to all the family's, and I still cannot come up with any words that can even remotely describe how upset I am..
