That's all I did, removed safe strap 3.11 via the app, used supersu un root, then installed the downloaded update. Allowed update, used this exploit to reroot, reinstalled safe strap and now I'm trying roms again.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Xparent BlueTapatalk 2

Thanks. No safestrap for me so I don't have to worry about that step. Ok so unfreze all frozen apps, smart actions stuff, then full unroot using supersu. Then update and re root with this threads method?
Thanks!

If speaking to me no. The update is ready for download and install, I was just making sure I use the right steps to get root back after I full unroot to install the jb update.

I'm new to this forum but not to Android...

I had root, and attempted to retain root with voodoo, but made the mistake of not backing up my binaries, so root retention failed. I'm running RAZRBlade and it fails in step 3. Here's what I'm getting:

[*] Phase three (this will take a minute)...
failed on '/data/logger' - Permission denied
mkdir failed
for /data/logger, File exists
Unable to chmod /data/logger: Operation not permitted
link failed
File exists

If I use Matt's 1.9 utility and select option (1), is this going to restore me to stock .211 with no root? Will internal memory and sdcard memory be wiped, or will those memory locations be intact at 1.9 is done. I'll still do a back-up, but I was curious. Finally should I run a factory reset after running Matt's utility or after the Jelly Bean update (or will I even need to run a Factory reset? Any help or feedbac would be much appreciated!

I am not able to root. I have a Droid Razr Maxx running 4.12 (98.72.16.XT912) which was downloaded and installed yesterday. I used Matt's 1.82 utility to to restore .211, then did an OTA update to my current version. I have SmartActions version 4.2.2.4.2. I've read every single post on this thread and don't know what to do. I REALLY do not want to factory reset again. I have USB debugging on and I'm on MTP mode. I've cleared the data and cache on the SmartActions apk. Here is the output of the razr blade .bat. I get this same output every time.

Any ideas? Do you think Motorola has already patched this exploit since I just updated to 4.12 via OTA yesterday? Please help! Thanks!

I went through all the steps and everything went fine but when I used root checker to see if I had root it says that "This device does not have proper root access". What does this mean?

Have droid razr max hd
