Those would be tested to find the optimum combination(s) to run the system at - the first an foremost part is the system itself. Need comp/evap system small enough to fit inside a case (optimally) or, if not, then at least reside outside (not optimal - too much chance to break tubing).

Only after you're assured pf actually having components can you decide on the medium, b/c the system may have restrictions of its own that we'll need to take into consideration.

Honestly the only realistic setup any single "average American" could even afford to build, is a Waterloop that is directly chilled by some Referigation system, a small mini fridge by my calculations is about 3-4 times the cooling capacity needed for an "average" overclocked gaming rig. And that's also cooling the VRM, NB, and DRAM.

It would take a 4cu mini fridge, and a 6-10 gal tank, and a massive radiator, prob a dual 200mm to sit inside the fridge. Set to your temp you feel comfortable running, and it would keep the CPU (first on loop) about 5 degrees above the fluid. The loop should go CPU, gpu(full block), split to parallel one dram only, other NB followed by CPU vrm's. The case would have sealing quick couplings for ease of transport/ maintenance.

To do something with refrigeration directly on CPU OR GPU. would require some serious engineering AND prototypes. I wouldn't be surprises if development cost upwards of 10k. If a compressor could even be made to fit in a case. Second problem. Voltage disturbance cause by the compressor. Third cost of the finished product. 4th no matter how you think you could chill two components due to the nature of freon and EPA laws on handling it. You'd need a sealed system specifically for that one component. A setup for a 670 gpu could never be adapted to a different card.


John, condenser coil size in not an issue, those mini fridges I referred to, don't even have fans on condenser coil. The tubes are just open to the air. A walk in cooler in a restaurant only has one about 14"x14" with fan. The compressor is the only set back

Um 4.95GHz 1.5v bclk 101 now and dram is at 2154 CL 8-9-10-20 2n 1.8v and an ass load of other finer tweaks to hidden clocks/timings that I don't have the patience to post
