Yes, but there's so much I could add to this rig and not enough money.

lmfao - well, yeah. The New GTX Titan is out, but THG shows that it still does not perform as well as a GTX 690 (which, admittedly, is a dual GPU solution on a single card). But with the same price tag, the 690 is still the better buy.

But that Titan looks so beautiful - I could build a nice $20 K rig with three of those in there if I could find decent spacing in a mobo -probably need a 9 slot minimum mobo that runs PCIe x16 across all lanes....

The problem with 16x on all lanes is latency, it raises your latency, and on pci gen 3 even 8x provides panty of bandwidth.

And I'm Havering a hard time deciding on building a water loop, or spending that same $450 on a Asus gtx 670. Or if it comes out soon enough the new gtx 77x my current ati 6850 is holding its own right now.

skip the 670. Seriously. Wait for the next gen 7xx series. Your 6850 is plenty powerful enough.

Build the water loop instead, as that will allow you to OC better.

That's how I'm leaning, and two more road blocks regarding our project.

I'm looking to get back into PC gaming and need to upgrade my 5 or so year old PC. I've got a 8800 gtx that's barely cutting it anymore. What would be the best card option for about $150 and under? I typically have leaned toward geforce cards. Once I get set up I'll post my rig.

A 460 might work. It's still pretty strong. Maxes out BFBC2. What I had before my 660ti SC

Well that would be perfect because I have a friend who said he'd sell his 460 for $20 because it just sits in his closet. I'm getting ready to get everything in my stainless steel coolermaster tower. I just need the video card. Although I am surprised at how well the 8800gtx still performs. That thing was a beast back in the day.

It doesn't have the memory bus band width to support it. 4GB bottle necks a 3xx bit bus and gaming doesn't even push 2 GB to its limit.

Funny. The 690 is dual GPUs, each with 4 GB of RAM, and both GPUs only have 256 bit bus. So, you're saying that hte 690 is also bottlenecked?

And the 690 isn't much better than a 680 especially for its cost.
