Has anyone been able to find out what the differences are between the updates? I mean looks like there is about 2mbs worth of something missing in the second OTA.

I'd like to know if the basebands are the same since the 9.18.79 update seems to have screwed up my radios a bit. I'm almost tempted to FXZ back to MR4 and take the 9.20.1 update and see what happens.

Nope, used voodoo ota to temp unroot just make sure you're doing it through stock recovery not twrp or cwm.

I have been holding off grabbing the update. I want to make sure I do NOT Lose Root. I have Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper Installed. Guess I keep reading post's to see what happens.
Current--------------------------------Razr HD 9.16.6----Version--4.1.2
Build----------------------------------------------------------------------------------9.8.1Q-62_VQW_MR-2
I have read that to use root keeper. Tap on PROTECT ROOT-Then Update.
I have also read that I need to Tap-Protect root- THEN Temp-UNROOT.Then Update. Which is correct?
I sure hope the Rootkeeper Works well.

That's been reported both ways - BUT as long as your bootloader is unlocked, it makes no difference. You can fix root in your custom recovery.
I do NOT Have unlocked Bootloader.
Just A Rooted Razr HD

The two...unlocking and maintaining root....are joined at the hip. If you remain locked and take the update, you can pray that the current root exploit works for you. It might. It might not. Or, you can unlock, take the update, install a custom recovery, flash a zip file and be done with full root. And for all updates going forward, the same process. No root exploit needed. Even if you never flash roms, if you care about root at all, you should consider unlocking.
