Did you ever wonder why there are only a few insurance companies in each state and you can't buy across state lines? Just look At how much insurance companies give to state electoral campaigns. that's regulation that helps the politicians.l

And many those are bad regulations. I'm not saying that all regulations are good, many regulations are made to protect the economy and the consumer. Many others were made because lobbyists came in and lobbied for regulations benefiting them.

Again, not taking a side, my family pays more with Obamacare but it helps A LOT of other people.

The bottom line is money. Big business does not want to be hurt by someone like Obama who came up from the bottom, worked hard, and is a genuine success story.

The news is bull$#!7.

Big business will work very hard to stop someone like Obama from offering the masses things like education and healthcare. The opportunity to do what he did.

You don't like what Obama has done?

Do you like the ZR-1? What about that Escalade or Sierra. Thank you Obama for saving the Camaro.

I have also worked for small businesses for most of my working life and have been screwed out of insurance because of it.

I welcome a subsidized option funded through taxes. It will be cheaper than paying these scumbags like cobra. Check their rates. I would rather not pay them 3k per year for insurance.

God forbid you are a female with children.

I applaud our current president for trying to help out the greater good and not serving the lobbyist garbage feeding gifts to maintain their stranglehold on the system.

The machine will do their damndest to paint the president in an unpleasant picture out of self preservation. I hope the machine gets it's plug pulled.

If you are struggling or are unhappy with the current state of things, remember some rich piece of crap is enjoying a fine wine with his beef Wellington plotting the next crash they can bet on through insurance to take even more of your money.

Then they can use the president as a scapegoat to get their puppet in place and continue our financial raping.

wow. Just wow. Obama has never worked hard. Whether he is a genuine success story depends on your definition of success.

What Obama is offering is Marxism. Everything he is "offering" has been taken from someone else.

If you think you have a right to something purchased by my labor, you're saying you have more right to my money than I have. Isn't slavery what we call the concept of one person benefitting from the fruits of another's labor?

To say Obama saved the Camaro is to say GM would have collapsed had it not been for Obama taking money from the taxpayer to bail out GM. The fact is, many companies go through bankruptcy and become stronger. Bankruptcy is seldom a death knell.

As a matter of fact, I worked for a company that went through bankruptcy. The company still made products. The company kept employees on the payroll, and too.

Oh, and the cobra you pay is indeed expensive. The reason it seems so expensive (aside from over-regulation) is because it is the rest of your health insurance premium. When you are in some capacity to produce revenue for your boss, he is paying the lion's share of your premium.

It is foolish to think the current president is doing anything for the Marxist greater good.

I recommend you learn a little about economics. Read anything by Thomas Sowell or Walter E. Williams. Both make economics easy to understand.

Oh, and the real piece of crap is the one who thinks he's somehow entitled to the earnings of another.

King Howie well said. He means well and he's long on empathy, but you can't listen to democrat talking points. They are full of lies. Read and educate yourself on facts and dispense with the feelings.

Don't vote against your own best interest. Both Romney and Obama have there benefits and disadvantages, but remember this before you vote.

If you are not in the top %5 in income in the US ($100,000+ a year) you should vote Obama. Romney will lower taxes for the rich and raise taxes of the middle class which is most likely you. So that being said it would cost you more in tax dollars each year than the fine would for not having Health Insurance.

By they way I am a Independent Health and Life insurance broker so this is not not exactly coming from nowhere. All of the countries rank above the US in healthcare use some type of government control and it seems to work allot better then the US current system which dose not work, families are going bankrupt due to medical bills they can't pay which increases health care cost for everyone else way more then the fine would be also.

Obama care also means you cannot be turned down for health insurance, children are not held to undwriting standards which saves money, its limits the amount a person can be charged for health care a month, and creates affordable plans for low income families so vote smart this year and know the facts. If you are not Rich Romney is not for you.

Wrong. Since Obunghole has been in office, my parents have had their taxes increase. They make well under $100k. Combine that with the new healthcare and they will be forced to shell out more money for subpar healthcare.

If you think socialized medicine is great, look at Canada and Great Britain. People from Canada with life threatening illnesses come to the US because the waiting list is so long. I personally know a kid who had bone cancer and came down to the US to get care because he would have been dead by the time he received the care he needed in Canada. And British dentistry is pretty infamous, wouldn't you say?

The American medical system is flawed, but it is still the best in the world. People come from all over the world for our technology.

Does it bother you to see threads about our cars, bikes, and games, etc that have nothing to do with Android. If this thread hurts your feelings don't read it. I personally see nothing wrong with it

when has Romney proposed raising taxes on the middle class? And don't tell me it's some super-double-secret scheme. Obama wants to allow the current tax rate plan to expire, which will raise income taxes on anyone having an income.

You are correct that people are currently struggling to pay for health care. It's so expensive because there isn't and hasn't been a free market approach to health care for decades.

We had the best health care system when free market principles were applied. You are about to witness the utter failure of socialism once again

In Holland all healthcare is free however you can still have a private healthcare to not have to go to your GP for everything. There is a medical tax taken out of payroll just like Medicare is here to pay for this and the system works great

You guys should check your facts from somewhere other than heritage foundation and fox.

I stopped subscribing or watching when I found several of their reports to be false and their spin, which everyone does, to be beyond reason.

It seems to me they've only gotten worse in the last decade.
Other than that, there's nothing I can say here that reputable sources haven't said. Take that however you'd like.

I'll bet it does work in Holland.
I have 2 problems with any government sponsored plan in this country
  • How do you have an open healthcare system with porous borders? I'd jump a border for free healthcare too.
  • Do you really trust this government to take control of your healthcare when they've raped Social Security, Medicare is broke, and the post office continually runs in the red? There isn't one government run agency that's efficient. And the reason is. there are no market forces and it's easy to spend other peoples money when the law is on your side.

I've never heard of the Heritage foundation doing anything but presenting facts. The Fox piece was an opinion piece and 1 of the 5 items they mentioned in obamacare will only effect a small group of wealthy individuals which they didn't mention.
