Battery pin tests (black lead chassis grounded)
Pin 1 0 volts
Pin 2 0 volts
Pin 3 0 volts
Pin 4 4.09 volts
Pin 5 0 volts
Pin 6 0 volts
Pin 7 0 volts
Pin 8 15.06 volts
Pin 9 15.06 volts
Black lead battery grounded (pin 1)
All pin voltages the same as above (expected)
Rules out bad ground...
Repaired broken insulation on wifi lead(found earlier)
Tried identical battery (thanx the the geek squad in warrenton, MO) ... still no battery recognized
Board traces in charging circuit appear ok...
Visual inspection of capacitors appears ok
My conclusion..... (without de soldering components)
Bad diode on charging circuit..... which would explain the slight fluctuations in voltages from yesterday to today.......
More than likely caused by direct short of earlier mentioned wire on WIFI card.....
Repair options..... replace all diodes (in circuit) 6 at 75 cents each.... or replace MOBO at about $150 ..... i think its a no brainer.... LOL
Thank you everyone for all your help on this issue.... it is greatly appreciated!!!
