Sorry for confusion and thanks for helping. This was what I could not find on my phone:

"IF YOU ARE NOT ON THE INITIAL STOCK FIRMWARE (0.6.25) or the first minor OTA (0.7.2):
(if you are on firmware 0.6.25, you will not need to follow step 8)
(if you are on firmware 0.7.2, you will not need to follow step 8 or steps 14 - 25)"

This is why i asked if this method would work on my phone.

It is the system version number (9.1.41) that is being used. The build number that this write up works to is 9.8.1Q_39. This is the latest official update that is available for the Droid RAZR (Maxx) HD. You are already on it.

The mirror for the 0.7.2 file is Blur_Version.98.72.8.XT912 =. I don't think that is right?

Until it can get fixed, I've changed the "

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

" link for the 0.7.2 download to the correct file on my Google Drive account.
To Download the complete file:
1. Open the link in a new page
2. At the top of the page, you will see the name of the file (Blur_Version.0.6.25.XT926.Verizon.en.US.zip), right below this, click on the word "File"
3. This brings up a menu, click on "Download"
4. Save the file, move to your phone,
5. Continue to follow the rest of the directions. The mirror for the other update (version 9.1.41) is correct.
