right - I did notice that it is just a tab bit laggy.  but I would overlook that if the camera preview worked.  also, the battery seems to drain slightly faster than the 4.1.1 build I was on previously (not sure if the dev baked in any battery tweaks).

just flashed PACman.... really really love it!  not sure what the difference is between that and Black Bean (aside from some colors/theming).  can y'all confirm if the e-mail is working on black bean?

Email works on baked bean. Could not get it to work on pacman.

perhaps I'll try BB next.  I noticed that were a few different options of GAPPs to download, which one did you use?

in either event, I'm somewhat reluctant to use them until camera preview has been resolved.  I'd hate to call that a deal breaker, but I've got kids, so I use that app several times a day - and thus having the preview is essential.

I always get best battery life on stock based and tweaked builds.  Everything is designed to work with the phone.  Custom builds take some work to get perfect.  With that being said, battery life takes a couple of days to settle in.  I'm running one of Mic's CM10 builds right now and have had it on the phone for about 2 days. Yesterday, I just installed some tweak scripts and the battery life is about half what I saw on DeadRage.  However, I have not let it settle and it hasn't been through a full charging cycle yet.  I flashed on Tuesday, installed the scripts yesterday, and the phone is going a little crazy right now.  It'll settle out in a few days.

I downloaded the BB ROM, but not the PACROM.  BB has some tweaks in the init.d folder, but I didn't see anything for battery.  Both were ported by the same person, so I would assume the same tweaks would be in PAC.

Use the first GAPPs option:

I added some of these tweaks to my BB rom and i noticed the screen is more responsive and battery is a little better. Used Rom toolbox pro for the ones not in the prop build editor in setting. And if they weren't there at all i just added a new line.

Got almost a day out of my BakedBean rom. 25% left after 19 hours and 30 minutes of fairly heavy use.   What is everyone else's like?

Those look like some pretty nice mods. It still scares me to mess with the build.prop so, I used a flashable script. I can't remember which one it was, I'll have to find it when I get home. I tried flashing FlyON and it sent my phone into a boot loop, the same with V6. I couldn't get NOS to work, but I think that was just because I'm a newb and I still don't do well in terminal. I also think it had to do with needing to update busybox. The stuff I have going now seem like it's settling in pretty well.

I can't remember which one it was, and I can't find it on XDA again. I'll look it up when I get home and let you know.

edit: found the thread on XDA, it's Supremacy Trilogy. Take a look and tell me what you think. I'm still learning.

FYI, PACman ROM was updated to include the e-mail fix.

BTW, the main page for the ROM asks that any links be redirected to that site only:
