Okay so I attempted to install deadrage v1. 2a.zip ROM and I cleared system cache, user data all that, installed .zip and now all I get is the boot image. It won't shut off. The only thing I can do is get it in the fast boot menu. And that took forever to do. i cannot get into clockwork mod recovery at all?? What do I do??

hold power and volume down for like 10 sec. then quickly hold power and both volume buttons then select recovery

Not even close to being bricked. Sounds like you didn't mount system prior to flashing. Did you happen to make a backup, prior to flashing? If not, you might need to fastboot back to stock. If you're on the boot logo, hold power and it will shut down all the way, or hold power/vol+/vol- and this will simulate a battery pull and reboot you. If you hold power and get the power off all the way, then hold all three and this boot you into the the fastboot menu. Vol- to pick your option, and vol+ to go into your option. I you use the simulated battery pull, when power shuts off, you will get a quick flash. When you get the flash, quickly release buttons then press them again. This will put you into the fastboot options menu.

If you can get into recovery using methods above, reflash Rage. Do your wipes, then reboot recovery and mount system. If you have a backed up ROM, then you can also restore it here. If you don't have one, then you need to make one prior to flashing any mods. If none of this works, you need to get into fastboot and restore to stock through fastboot. You can use Matt's utility or the FXZ files through RSDlite. How's your battery?

also the phone is not bricked unless it just wont ever come back on... but if it boots chances are you can go back to fastboot and use utility to restore.

Some debate is still ongoing on when or if you need to mount.  I always wipe cache/dalvik and FDR, then reboot recovery and mount system, prior to flashing.  Then wipe cache/dalvik  after flashing.  Most recommend also wiping system during the initial wipes, but I never do.  It's up to you if you want to do it.  Have you been able to get back into recovery?  Also, you did flash this in CWM, not safestrap?

Im using CWM 6.0.3.2. Could you go over how that is done. All i have for mount is

- Mount /sdcard When i click on /sdcard it does nothing. and that is where my .Zip is. so im kinda confused. Do i have to format it then put the .zip on??
- Mount /external_sd Or should i be using /external_sd? becasue when i attempted to flash the rom i now have a prompt on my phone that im almost out of space i
- Mount /system went from like 5 gigs to 223 MB. and what is wipe cache partition?
- Unmount /cache
- Unmount /data
- Mount /pds
- Mount/modem

You want to mount system prior to flashing the rom. Before that wipe data and cache which is back a page from the mounts. Also wipe Dalvik which is under advanced

so I just got my wife the razr M and I'm having some issues flashing a custom ROM on it......she had the Razr Maxx (not Maxx HD) and I flashed ROMs on there all day and I use a Galaxy Nexus but the process to the Razr M is kicking my butt......I used the root utility 1.20......flashed TWRP but I also installed safestrap (maybe this is where I went wrong) then I rebooted to recovery and in slot 1 of TWRP installed flyingjelly but when I tried to boot the phone to try it out it said no OS installed and it was frozen in a warning screen that said boot loader unlocked...any suggestions what I should do?

either rsdlite or use matts utility to get back to stock. if your unlocked no need for safestrap!

Go to fastboot. Use the 1.20 utility you have to flash stock. Then root, the reason for not getting TWRP is because SS goes into the system overriding the recovery as SS. If you decide, unlock and install CWM. Be warned, not all some work with all recoveries. You have read each one and decide which to use.

Safestrap does not override your stock recovery only TWRP and CWM does that. TWRP and ss are different
