When switching between safe system and standard should you wipe cache and/or dalvik?

I have switched between both roms and did not have to wipe anything...other than the initial data wipe

Strange. I switched from safe system loaded with deodexed stock back to standard stock, and it froze at the lock screen. After hard reset everything was fine.

Im running the same rom in both slots with different tweaks. And the rom is nitro's deodex.

Is this working for anyone with GSM?
Ive flashed back stock, factory reset, zergrushed and installed safestrap but the "safe system" flashes really fast and after the screen that you press menu or search it just goes black...

How long did u wait? Bc its supposed to go black for about 20 secinds or so

left for a good few minutes,just tried again...
Its like the rom is not flashing correctly, ive tried mine, shadys and the plain deodexed one.
also when switching the safe system off the backing up of safe system is instant (like there is nothing to backup)
where as the backup and restore of the original system takes some time.

I am having this exact issue with my RAZR. If I am in non-safe mode (this is where I am just stock rooted), the phone boots up just fine but when I try to enable safe made, so I can tweak the rom to my liking, the screen just goes black and never actually boots up.

Looks like the Safestrap for RAZR isn't compatible w/ the XT910 for some reason. Or at least the 2nd-system isn't working for it -- backups are probably fine. I'm looking into it.

There is a early ics rom in development that boots up on razr.. he was a part of the group that recieved it to test. nothing is really working within that ics rom right now, but its a great start..

I installed this and created nandroids first for nonsafe system, then for safe and nonsafe together, then verified both; very nice feature btw! So after creating backups, rebooted in safe system and just have a black screen, even after a few minutes. I hard reset and boot into non-safe system and boots up ok. am i missing something?

Can someone with the XT910 try and boot up into safe system with a usb cord attached? Have a theory.

I didn't flash a rom yet, just testing things out first. oh, so that's why nothing is showing up? I thought it would be a copy of the first system to start with?

Yeah, your 2nd-system would still have the preinstall files. Try out RAZRX

As long as you follow directions to the "T" in the OP.. make sure Bootstrap! !! Is deleted.. XT912 will flash flawless.

Check those MD5'S folks!! Lets keep them clean flashes till we have SPF Files or some way to get back to stock. Thank you! !
