Well, in order to do that you need to get permission from Dan to include the root and unlock methods. I doubt he'd have an issue with it. I already have a House of RAZR_HD that does all those things. It's the util I used on my own RAZR HD when I got it. It's very rough around the edges cause I only made it for myself and not for end users. Besides, I thought Matt's util did all this kind of stuff already?

Matts thing doesn't perform the update. Unless he intends to release a new one. I don't know. Like I said, just a simplified set of options. Guess we'll have to see.

Well, nothing is going to perform the update. For that you need to put stock recovery on, boot to it, and run it. There's no way to automate that. You could prepare a phone to do so by flashing the system image of the previous FXZ that the update relies on, but, then you lose root. There's all kinds of crazy caveats to writing scripts like this. I learned most of them writing the HoB.

That was my thought the first time I saw it. I haven't played around with it too much, which right now I'm on a Mac-ugh, so I can't play around with it. For many most just install the RSD 6.1.5; which the MTK Patch is separate install (and rather unnecessary for our purposes.)

Some devices need some kind of MTK flash. I've never concerned myself with it since we don't own one of those devices. Hence why I posted just the normal RSD since it was for HD users.

Got a question, can one extract apk's from a FXZ as basically I am on 9.16.6 except the apk's in /vendor/app and /system/app, I updated with the newer versions so it would be good if there is a way to extract those from another source and replace them on the device so the update would work. If so, where does one find the FXZ for 9.16.6?

They are labeled for the version they are writing over. That one is the MR2 version.

Two answer your first question, no. You cannot extract apks from an ota because otas are actually patches. The updater script "updates" the files, it doesn't replace them.

Is the image set for 9.18.79 if you want to flash them in RSD. Unlock your bootloader first though.
