Oh well, if anyone else flashes this in the next hour, LMK, I'll likely do it on this maxx, since its .181. I'm selling my droid razr with .206 on it, so I'm not gonna fiddle with that one.

download but it looks like we need a process to install it. Unless it's a stock .181 phone.
I'd say the process would be the same (unstuck) if coming from a leak higher than 79.
Honestly, my 206+aokp+VIVID theme runs perfect enough for me to leave it for awhile. I'll sit back and wait for the experts to come up with a solution.

Can i ask why do we get stuck. Sorry new to RAZR phones. But on my X we could sbf back to gingerbread or froyo with no issues. Whats the difference now on why we cant sbf or fastboot as its called?

The file structure is incompatible with gingerbread. Anything newer than the 79 leak can't fastboot back to gingerbread.

I'm hoping that they (moto) release another ota file for those on .206 to get to .208 -- if they do that, then that's still (in my opinion) a sign they're trying to keep everyone on track.

I did! Just flashed it over my stock GB (after doing voodoo rootkeeper of course) and it's awesome! So far no probs, root was restored in seconds and everything runs fine.
Of course I hope there'll be a way from here on up, but it already looks very polished and finished. Now on to the debloating... !!!

Of course. You should expect nothing less of a s***storm if it was unlocked - you'd probably already know by now.Let me guess ... bootloader still locked, right?

When you hold pwr and vol. down you may see the screen flash, then immediately hold down both vol. buttons.I need help please, I followed directions and I got as far as fastbooting the 181 files, but now my phone wont go into fastboot to install the 209 image. cant even get it to recovery as well. only thing it does when I hold the pwr down key and power button is go into the motorolla dual core screen then it shuts off again.

I had a similar problem. Also had a hard time doing the wait for the screen to flash thing. I solved it by unplugging my phone from USB and them doing the fastboot mode trick. Hope that helps.

Anyone else seen this, and maybe have a fix? This is a huge problem for me and Brett Favre.
----------------------------------
I think I fixed it. I went into Apps and cleared the local data for the Text Messaging app. I thought that it might kill all of my old messages (which isn't a huge deal) but it didn't; must just be some caching. Anyway, it seems to be working now.
----------------------------------
And another edit, I realize that I put this in the wrong thread.
