You are talking about the Halo notifications correct? Maybe I am wrong here

 

If that is the case though, they are totally different from what Moto is offering on it's lock screen. And yes.. Halo notifications are a ripoff from Facebooks chat heads.

I have used PA and see no resemblance between it's Halo notifications and this.. I am open to being corrected though if someone can show me a video of PA doing what the Moto notifications do

There's a video in the op. They're both a round circle that pops up with notifications that you use gestures to open, or dismiss. Other than one being on the lock screen, it's the exact same thing.

If they were smart, they would sell it off contract for r $300 for the 16gb,$350 for the 32.
I will NOT BUY and AM NOT INTERESTED in the moto x that freaking much. Less specs=less cost in my books.
Yes its cool and the x8 sounds neat. But my Nexus 7 2nd gen is about as good as i thought android could get... No lag, apps open instantly. I get 10 hours on screen time. And the price ks for a 1080p screen with high ppi and better specs everywhere and they're selling it for cheap.
I understand they only make a few bucks off of it and they make their money on play sales, but what does moto have to lose with googles wallet funding them in the first place.
The moto x off contract price of $300 would be an impulse buy on everyone. And if i wanted a locked down phone id buy an iPhone. But if everyone purchased one they'd be making serious bank off $300...im guessing the profits $100+ a phone.
I can really get over the 720p screen, that doesn't bother me a bit honestly, but the price is an instant no for everyone. And who the hell would UPGRADE to it and lose their unlimited data. Not me. No.1 reason why i wouldn't .
If they think its a smart strategy I think its gonna bite them hard. $600 for an off contract phone to shake my wrist for a camera that nobody asked for, and the ability to have notifications on my screen is for the birds. The google now thing is the only thing that sounds intruiging but what person will use it 24/7. Its gotta be a joke...
All im saying is moto better stick up their middle fingers towards us tomorrow and tell us they got us, and the price was a joke to make people like me flip out.

I really don't think i can justify buying the Moto X at this point. The software/hardware integration is great.. but overall specs are less than impressive comparing to the S4 or the HTC ONE. AND NO EXTERNAL STORAGE TO BOOT?!? I'm really disappointed.  :tear:

No external storage? I don't remember reading that! That's more of an immediate no than the price. External storage was one of the original reasons I got a bionic instead of an iphone when I was looking into a smartphone.

So let me get this right... The Moto X is little more than Razr with some software upgrades sans transflash card and wrapped in a custom case ???? And I can buy the X for $600+ off contract to I can get the S4 for $649 off contract.

Seriously. This is so not a rip off of anything. Halo took the idea from fb for it's floating notification. But this feature had nothing to do with that at all.

Some people will go out of their way to cry foul.

Not an obvious ripoff to me.  Either way who cares?  If Android wasn't so open-source to begin with nobody could be developing this stuff in the first place.  

 

I can't f'ing wait to get a Moto X.  It looks like a kick rear end phone, plus it's made in f'ing AMERICA.  I love it.  I love this Razr but it is getting old.
