When you download the file it will be .zip file. Right click and extract to..... I usually put it on my desk top. After you extract to...... Open the folder. You will see a file called windows utility its a batch file 9 KB in size. Double click it.

Go back to post #5 and click on the blue word "this". Then go to page 1 of that post and download from the link.

I'm having trouble installing the windows drivers. The first package installed successfully but I'm getting an error on the second. Does anyone forsee this as being a problem or should I proceed?

You should be fine. There are 32-bit and 64-bit drivers. The ones that installed is the type of PC you have.

This may seem like a stupid question but... which options do I run and in which order?

Sorry If I am asking so many questions, I just want to make sure I am doing every step correctly.

Root first then unlock boot loader. Then install custom recovery

So do options 5 then 6 then 4? and leave 1,2,3 alone?

Yes, 5 then 6 the either 4 or 3 depending on which recovery you want. I personally prefer TWRP but you can decide.

false alarm (thank god) unplugged the phone. booted up as normal. everything seems to be in order. It seems I was successful. Id like to thank everyone who contributed their advice and expertise. You guys pretty much held my hand and I appreciate it.

Well maybe I'm not rooted after all. The phone is behaving exactly the same way as it was before. Everything ran smoothly and successfully and I ran the TWRP recovery afterwards. Did I miss something?

Doesn't look like I did that either. I received no notification regarding the boot loader.
