This is the newest radio for xt907. 98.18,94. fresh from the newest SBF file. This is a flashable zip, if you want only the NON-HLOS.bin, unzip it. :) Let me know how this works for you.

to use fastboot, make sure you have fastboot or moto-fastboot in your $PATH settings. google this if you don't understand, then unzip and navigate to the unzipped folder, hold shift, and right click. then choose "open command window here", then type:  mfastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin   then, optionally, to give you a factory fresh modem do:  mfastboot erase modemst1   &   mfastboot erase modemst2     mfastboot reboot   that's all you need to do.   the commands to erase modemst1 and modemst2 just erase some cache i believe that the modem deals with. it's not manditory, but it can't hurt.  if you're using regular fastboot just erase the "m" from my commands, using regular fastboot will show some errrors saying the files are too large, but they should still flash in my experience.

If you use mac or linux, you'll have to google to find the files for your OS. i used to have a linux moto-fastboot copy, but i had a couple hard drive failures, and i lost it.

To make things easier, I am going to link to a folder on dropbox, that will contain my xt907 files. Bookmark it, and check periodically. I will throw some cool stuff in there from time to time..

Would be nice if this helps with the reception on these phones. At home and at home mines suck. I have to use the jet pack all the time. In the city its 4g all day but once I leave that area 3g & 1x or sometimes it drops data all together. I haven't try this but I'm interested in the results. I'm subscribing :p

I will in a minute. I'm going to do a backup and a couple other things. Just gotta make sure I'm at least able to fastboot back to stock afterward.

im using it. it seems a little better, but these Motorola radios aren't what they used to be. baseband will show as .xxxx.80P instead of xxxxx.78P.

honestly, you shouldn't need a backup, to flash this. it can't really mess anything up. it only flashes /modem, it doesn't touch your /system or /data folders.

Dumb question but, works with all ROMs?

Yup. Your radio is not affected or changed with roms.

Cool. I know that fastboot from PC restores the old radios, so..

Thanks!

well, I'm not sure what you mean. if you have a copy of an SBF or XML file for full restore, yes, you can navigate to that directory, and do fastboot flash modem non-hlos.bin  from the unzipped xml folder.   or you can create an XML file for flashing only "modem" in RSD Lite.  SamuriHL has some awesome tutorials, and some great stuff in his House of Moto folders here on DR.

May have to wipe cache after flashing the radio though. I always do or it won't boot.

I haven't had any issues with the 78p radio so I don't notice any improvement but it isn't any worse either lol.

I just meant I'd use the XT907 Utility if I had issues. Seems to work fine for me though.

Keep getting "flash failed". Cleared cache/dalvik and downloaded zip file twice. On newest twrp that was required to flash 4.4 (I never did flash 4.4 though). Any ideas?

Which version number of TWRP exactly?

So if it makes no difference is it even worth flashing?

Try mounting system prior to flashing.  Sometimes these baseband zips don't have mount script built in.

.78 made a difference and allowed me to get full 4g in some marginal areas.  I don't know about this update yet, as I haven't flashed it yet.
