Thanks for putting this up. I really didn't want to go back to stock just to get the new radio.

Well I flashed the new radio and I lost 4G. Before the update I had a weak 4g signal but now I can only get 3g, haven't test in other areas(sitting in the dentist office, waiting) . guess need to look for for the old radio zip file.

You can pull the radios from the previous fxz file as well and flash with Fastboot.

Thanks for the quick reply. Can you point me to instructions on how to do to extract the correct files?

update, after using the phone for a while, it seems that the 4g is more difficult to pick up in fringe areas

Also, I have had BETTER 4G. Also, I posted the old flash able baseband in my folder as well. I believe RikRong put that one together, so the thx goes to him. Also, in my Dropbox folder to which I linked in the second post there are other xt907 goodies. Also an app folder with various apps. Some of them are paid apps with license verification so you'll need a patched play store. Also, the paid apps are to try only. If you enjoy the app, spend $5 in the Play Store and support your developers, or else we won't have any!

Thx bud. That's two radios back. Newest is 80P, next is 78P, which is in my folder in the second post, and next newest is 81P. I know that makes no sense, but i promise you its correct.

It's like I saw in another post, the last two numbers may be lower than an old one, but it's the beginning numbers which are higher and matter.

Flashed this with CWM with no issues. Didn't have to clear cache either. Thanks for the new Baseband.

Try mounting system prior to flashing. Sometimes these baseband zips don't have mount script built in.

RikRong, maybe I'm missing something as I didn't personally write the edify updater-script for this file, I just copied it from another flashable baseband, but i did read it, and it doesn't touch /system. The baseband sits in /modem. Therefore mounting /system would be a waste, the way I interpret it, but I've been wrong a couple times in my life so who knows. :-) jk.

Keep getting "flash failed". Cleared cache/dalvik and downloaded zip file twice. On newest twrp that was required to flash 4.4 (I never did flash 4.4 though). Any ideas?

The very first file I uploaded was a bad zip. It wouldn't flash, but i replaced it in under 5 minutes. I seriously doubt you go the bad one. One way you could tell though, is unzip it. Inside the correct file there is a non-hlos.bin, and a meta-inf folder. That's all.

In my experience with Android phones over the last four years, flashing a baseband (radio) is different than flashing a kernel or rom as it resides in a different location; one that a nandroid backup/restore doesn't even mess with.  It is totally a seperate thing and sticks from ROM to ROM, etc.  Therefore the need to 'wipe cache three times, system twice, wipe data 3.1314 times, stand on your head and mount system like a horse' is irrelevant.

But, I too, have been wrong a few times in my life as well . . . .

Yeah, I think you're right.  I was just thinking about something else when I wrote that response.  I just took that baseband from Avi and uploaded it to Dev-host.  I didn't actually put it together and I haven't opened it up to look at it.

New Radio seems to be working fine here. Always had a strong 4G at work here, so definitely didn't lose anything.
