In my experience screenshots are not a very accurate representation of what it looks like on the phone so it may look perfect on the phone.

That's the problem...on the phone it looks like it has a purple-ish hue in spots. I'll work with it a little more to try and fix that.

If your trying to match the COLOR of something, use the eye drop tool and take a sample of the color you want to match or base a series of colors off of. For example if you want to match the blue in the notification icons, open one up in Photoshop and use the eye drop to get the blue color from it. It will also give you the hex code for that color. It makes matching colors a bit easier. Just a quick tip that's pretty simple but saves some time and frustration. What I run into a ton is colors look way different on my computer then they do once I put them on my phone. So test, test, test! Anyways lookin good. Peace out ho.

I'm using the Hue / Saturation tool to re-color a wallpaper to match the base blue color of the theme. I've got the hex code already...it's just trying to get them to match up with the hue / saturation tool that is causing the problem.

It is a lot but if you stick with it and just keep doing a little at a time you can have it pumped out in no time. Set goals for yourself. Like doing 1/4th or half the framework-res images each day.

lol Well, that would be a lot easier if I could figure out what some of these images are!

i remember it took me months to find out what every image did in all the apk's. That was with pretty much zero help from people too. I can't even tell how many wasted weekends i had changing things then trying to hunt them down to see were the image is at that i changed. But it will pay off in the end when you figure out were everything is, then the next version of android comes out before you got done with your first theme. And they changed so much stuff that you have to spend days and days hunting stuff down again and relearning everything, then wanting to take your phone and smash it with a hammer lol haha. That's why i moved on to launcher themes.

We have alllll been there! Lol. It does get easier. I promise. A tip that can help at times.. learn to use the xml's. There were many times in the past I've read the XML for what I was trying to edit to help pin point the image you're looking for.

another tip that helps especially when you're first starting. Sounds stupid.. but I promise it helps! Make a personal change log with notes. When you find and replace that hard to find image or XML edit... take note! That way on the next theme you'll have information to reference.

For example.. back on GB it took me forever! And I mean forever to figure out that the color of notifications text from the phone was actually in the phone.apk itself...

I think I'm going to scrap this theme and start over. The blue I used is too dark, I lost track of how I was getting the layout set up, and I messed up on a BUNCH of 9 patches last night. Lesson learned...

Started a new theme tonight; I'm doing less re-coloring, and making more of the images myself. Keeping my fingers crossed that this one will work better!

I used the same color, verified the hex code...but the soft keys are darker than the lines which are darker than the notification toggles. Does that make any sense?

What is the hex you used in entirety? Could be a bit of transparency causing the difference.

I've had that problem show up with certain things being slightly transparent like you said.

I was using #ff0066CC, alpha transparency at 255. Shouldn't have been any transparency.
