Does that recolored wallpaper look purple to anyone else?
In my experience screenshots are not a very accurate representation of what it looks like on the phone so it may look perfect on the phone.

It is a lot but if you stick with it and just keep doing a little at a time you can have it pumped out in no time. Set goals for yourself. Like doing 1/4th or half the framework-res images each day.

lol Well, that would be a lot easier if I could figure out what some of these images are!

another tip that helps especially when you're first starting. Sounds stupid.. but I promise it helps! Make a personal change log with notes. When you find and replace that hard to find image or XML edit... take note! That way on the next theme you'll have information to reference.
For example.. back on GB it took me forever! And I mean forever to figure out that the color of notifications text from the phone was actually in the phone.apk itself...

I think I'm going to scrap this theme and start over. The blue I used is too dark, I lost track of how I was getting the layout set up, and I messed up on a BUNCH of 9 patches last night. Lesson learned...
All part of the process. Ive abandoned quite a few theme projects before.

What is the hex you used in entirety? Could be a bit of transparency causing the difference.

I've had that problem show up with certain things being slightly transparent like you said.
