could someone please post a stock 247 system dump? if you don't know what i mean or how to do it, i can walk you through it. if you've made a nandroid, the system dump is the system.ext3.tar file. you can also connect to adb and type "adb pull system".

System dump (IIRC) wont work using dd - it's always like 512 bytes too big / small. Nandroid backup, OTOH, will work.

dd should work fine; i've gotten system dumps from dd system.img files before. just have to have the right tools to read them. i used to use WinImage, but recently started using WinHex.

Oh, I think it was that it could be read perfectly fine but it could not be used via fastboot / RSDLite. Sorry for the mixup. Since you've already got the hookup, I'll let it go - plus, mine is not virgin anyway, since I have Google Ears and GNow installed :D

oh yeah, can't fastboot flash a dd system.img on moto. you could on a bootloader-unlocked device though.

I didn't realize it was only b/c of the bootloader locking. I thought it was b/c of a simple filesize error....

honestly i haven't ever had a fastbootable unlocked bootloader device, so i can't say for sure, but the main reason dd won't work for our devices is the bootloader accepts only signed system images. some dd images you actually can fastboot flash or even dd onto the device, but not system.

And......there is NO way moto would have included ANY JB code into .246 ....that would be illogical
