"Let There Be White" Theme

(Current Version 1.0.4)

Hi all, I’d like to introduce you to “Let There Be White!” It is based off the Simplex idea of clean and simple. White with a splash of chrome!

What apk's have been themed (some more than others):

• Framework-res
• Browser
• Contacts
• Email
• Gmail
• MMS
• Phone
• SystemUI

Differences to Simplex-V1.3:

• Bootanimation – Have a look and see!
• Battery Icon changed. This is a greyscale version off my "Duracell inspired" battery icon. (with 1% battery changes).
• Status Bar Icons.
• Dialer font.
• Lockscreen Clock Font.
• Dock and Lockscreen Icons.
• Default Wallpaper – Can be changed to any wallpaper.
• White text in SMS.
• MANY different icons.

Upcoming Changes:

• SMS text colors change to white.
• Suggestions?

Installation:

(This is asumming you are already on Simplex-V1.3 | Ics4.04 | 10/1/2012)

• LTBWhite_v1.0.4 DOWNLOAD:

• Download and install onto SD Card.
• Reboot into Recovery Mode SafeStrap (I have only tested using SafeStrap v2.11 and above).
• If you want to be safe: Wipe Cache Partition, Wipe Dalvik Cache (In “Advanced”).
• Choose “Install zip from sdcard.”
• Locate “LTBWhite_v1.0.4.zip”
• “Yes – Install LTBWhite_v1.0.4.zip”
• After installation, Reboot, and enjoy!

NOTE: White themes generally use more power than darker themes. I recommend getting the CPU Sleeper app to help with battery life.

This is a Ultimate Custom Clock Widget which has been themed with fonts and colors. Based on a design by CDart at xda-developers, but made from scratch excluding the bezel.

Installation:

• Install UCCW:

• Download ZK-LTBW2.uzip:

• Save to /sdcard/UltimateCustonClockWidget/
• Create widget by selecting appropriate size (4x2) and press "tap to open" when asked.
• Press menu, "Import skins"
• Navigate to /sdcard/UltimateCustonClockWidget/ and select ZK-LTBW2.uzip
• NOTE: Due to transparent space the widget may look "low." To help just change Apex homescreen settings "portrait grid" to 6x4.
• Enjoy!

Although I am a huge fan of white themes..they are very slick...I would much rather prefer the dialer font left alone as stock just with white buttons on a black background. This one doesn't look like it is part of the rest of the theme. Just my 2 cents...If it wasn't for the dialer..I would go back to simplex just to rock this

One complaint I have is the status bar. I have third party apps that rely on a black status bar when creating status bar icons and you could see how a white status bar might make some icons invisible

I do believe that overall it is an amazing theme (better than anything I can make ) but the status bar color was really important to me so I unfortunately had to revert back to stock

Keep up the good work and hopefully you will soon create a theme that I will be able to enjoy as much as the other members of DR.com

I know exactly what you mean. This is the downside to the white status bar. Unfortunately I cannot change the status bar icons for all the apps

What would you recommend? Perhaps making the status bar a few shades darker? I have thought of this, however the status bar icons would still be difficult to see.

If anyone can think of a solution, let me know!

LTBWhite_V1.0.3 is up. Changes are in the change log, but the major changes status bar pull down with a carbon fiber background, and SMS messaging text is white. Basic emoticons have been themed to suit blue android icon on home screen.

That is definitely an idea. I'll play around with it and make a wallpaper the fits in with the theme but allows for a dark enough status bar area to be able to see light icons.

I have changed a few things for the next update. Status bar clock is now in the themed font while the rest of the system font remains unchanged (the theme font doesn't look good as the main system font). I also changed the widget and am working on improving the boot animation as well as a few other small things.

Updated OP to v1.0.4. Included in the update are changes to the bootanimation, status bar clock font, removal of "Verizon Wireless" from status bar pulldown.

Optional Widget has also been changed.

I did also look into making the status bar transaparent/semi transparent but it opened up a can of worms so I'm just going to leave it as white for now.
