That init.d folder is just a roll over from the .10 version. Still trying to work though getting init.d support working. Its is active through the Rom not the kernel, just gotta see why it is not triggering.

Sent from my VS980 4G

It looks like the issue is with run-parts. It keeps having a segmentation fault when it tries to execute the scripts. I at first thought maybe it was a script, but when I just call run-parts by itself, it says the following:

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

  6.28KB   35 downloads

So that seems to be the issue. Might be due to bloat removal possibly? I know I've made this work under stock ROM before, but that was with pure stock, not de-bloated, de-odexed.

So what I did was update sysinit to use "busybox run-parts" instead and that seems to have fixed it.

Basically, I replaced the following line:

with this:

Installation Instructions.
You must have a Custom Recovery already installed.
You must already have the 4.4.2 OTA installed.
You must have a Unlocked Bootloader. A TRIPPLE MUST!!!!!
Place package on either Internal or External Storage.
Full Wipe that A$$ before installing this.....
Install package then reboot.

When you say a full wipe, do you mean just hit the slide for a Factory Reset or an aAdvanced Wipe of Dalvik, Data, Int Stor, Cache, and System with TWRP?

Sorry for making the Great Ones speak on simple matters beyond my meager knowledge   :rolleyes

Edit:  I tried to get out of the quote box to post the reply, but I can't do it?!?  See?  I told you I have no knowledge...

Full Wipe That A$$ Definition =

Go into Advance Wipe

Check mark Dalvic, Cache, Data and System

Then Swipe to Wipe.......

Just don't forget the Charmin.

Is there any way to remove the root from the zip before installing? My corporate email uses Airwatch agent so I wanted to remove root access to get the best of both worlds (bloat-free and corp email).

I actually tried this (deleting superuser and the .su) but must not of zipped it back up correctly since installer failed. I also tried disabling SuperSU but Airwatch can still see the root.

There is a xposed module that will take care of that for you. I would use that first before uninstalling root. Haven't tried it before but they say it works fir enterprise email agents.

Thanks guys, I've knew about Root Cloak but wanted to see about removing the root first. It was a silly question but I had to ask.

Awesome ROM btw.

Rootcloak didn't work.. I used Xposed and followed the directions a couple times but Airwatch kept kicking out. I tried running the Rootcloak logs but that made it really buggy and Airwatch wouldn't run.

Reverted back to my stock .15 build for now.

Well if you wanna run this debloated version without root.. All one would need to do is after installing. Boot back into recovery and delete the Superuser apk and the su binary using TWRPs built in file manager. You will have to mount system before deleting those objects then unmount system before rebooting back into the system..

Thanks Nope1976

OK I did that but the root is still there. Superuser is removed from the App drawer but I can still use solid explorer to view the system folders. I verified both files were deleted so not sure what else to do.

I deleted the files right after installing the ROM. Should I have done at least one boot cycle before deleting the files?

You know what. Give till the weekend and I will post a non rooted version.. Even without root any advance file browser will still be able to access the system. It's the data partition that you will not see unless rooted..

They'll let you see the contents depending on which file manager you use. It won't let you modify the contents though.

That is for people that hasn't taken the latest OTA stock update. If you already took the update no need for the radio zip.
