THX for the link but to use the new .zip i have to unlock the bootloader, right? Because motofail wont work on JB 4.1.2., right? ID like to find a way to root without ordering an unlockkey from motorola because i wont lose my waranty. So is there a option to do it without unlocked bootloader on JB?

If you do NOT want to unlock your bootloader, use this x86 version of motofail2go by Dan Rosenberg:

just want to mention that the only difference in the packages in the op are the versions of superuser and su. imho it would be way less confusing to just link djrbliss' original package with links to the superuser and supersu pages so others can just drop in whichever superuser and su they want. just my .02.

Just purchased a Droid RAZR Maxx HD and it came with version 4.1.1 (version 9.1.41.XT926) already installed. Can I root this version using the Windows link or MAC link listed in this thread?

the droid razr m and droid razr hd are similar, but not sure. worst that could happen is the root attempt would fail.
btw, you'll probably have better luck getting answers to your droid razr hd questions in the droid razr hd forum:

Nope. Rsd and sbf files are your unrooting tools.

4.1.1 is JB. You need to go back to 4.04 ICS

And this is root for Razr M not HD

If you are running a RAZR M on JB 4.1.1 then this should work for you. Go to the sdcard and delete the bug2go text file. And try again. You don't have to press power and vol up for very long. You will get a tiny vibration (not marky mark style vibrations) and then continue with the exploit on your PC.
