I think its about time we get some good news in regards to Verizon! Well, here it is, today Verizon officially announced that they will be removing all Verizon Apps store apps from android and RIM phones. This process will take place from January to March of 2013. Some apps within the Verizon Apps store will still be available in Google Play if you want them. I would like to hope this is a move in a direction that will allow us to have more freedom with our phones when it comes to Verizon.

The sources you linked to state that VZW will be removing their app store, not all VZW apps. Sadly, the bloat will live on. But at least we can disable most of it in ICS.

LOL I was just getting ready to say the same thing.

Yeah, Torin_93, you may want to re-read your source and possibly re-write your news post. The sources say only the Verizon Apps application will be removed...

Edited for clarity. I thought it was straight forward. Sorry for misleading anyone.

Still misleading. For one, only the Verizon App Store app itself is removed, not apps purchased through it. Also, the thread title would still make any rational human being believe that Verizon is doing away with bloatware.

To be honest, your source link did a better job reporting this. Sorry to be harsh, but this is way too misleading to keep at the top of the front page.

Massacring the messenger for messaging the wrong message may be mistakenly messed up, methinks...

Yeah I'm really surprised this is still on the front page. Like everyone else I'm not trying to be mean but come on now.

It's incredibly misleading and it should not be at the top of the news for days on end to continue misinforming people. Not the end of the world but seems like it would be really easy to notice and fix.

they will probably do away with the app store by simply preloading all of these apps, who needs a store when your the manufacturer and shipper

I sincerely hope this is not to appease use b/c of the tiered data plans. I'll take Bloat + unlimited over Tiered + no bloat any day....:P

Especially when a simple root and 5-10mins of uninstalling will remove all the excess app-pounds.

Heck, with ICS, we don't even need root. Just disable them and be done...
