Hi everyone.
I've been on this site for a few days now, trying different ways to root my RAZR M but no such luck.

My device isn't available for an unlock code from the motorola website.

so i tried safestrap and it doesn't even run on the phone. it installs normally but when I run the app, it just crashes and exits.
I also tried all of these

but no dice

What are my other options for rooting?

cheers,
G

What is the problem you having? cant find device? (if that is a yes. than remember to extract the folder... for easier way to use or find extract it to desk top than click on the adb.exe before doing anything... or it runs the process.. but still not root?..(if yes than like most of us... you will need to do a data wipe and cache.. than it should work. good luck... remember you have to press volume up and power at the SAME time at some point until you get a vibration...

thanks for the reply

i've tried that as well. i don't get any response. the bug report thing doesn't even work as well. i've pressed it so many times but nothing happens.
the flash always fails. the device can be detected.

do you think it has something to do with the RAZR being locked?

He needs to root his phone before he trys to install safestrap. I think that's his main issue at this juncture.

by any chance you have bluestacks on your pc? there have been some reports of it not allowing people to root... uninstall recovery from safestrap if you have installed than uninstall the safestrap app... and try again...and just to be clear... you did go to stock recovery not the safestrap to wipe data and cache right? the way you get there is power phone off and than power it back on by holding the volume down and power same time... than it ask if you want to ap fastboot, recovery ,etc use volume down to navigate volume up to select recovery...than you will get like a dead droid logo with a ! all you have to to than is hold volumedown and press volume up after of just try a combination of the two. and there do the wiping...

When I used the motofail zip (downloaded it from another place) I had to replace superuser.apk and su in the extracted zip before I did run.bat. We are not supposed to add links that direct away from this site, so think I would break rules to add them here...

When it came time to push buttons, I turned the volume all the way down, then pushed volume up and power at the same time. The first vibration is typically not the one you want. Hold them for about 20 seconds or so to get the error vibration.

It is also best to have a fresh phone when using this root method (the only one I know). Do a factory reset, the initial basic set up, then root. Hope that helps!

From the RAZR M

Either you are not creating a bug report and/or you need to start with a "fresh" phone (aka factory rest, maybe more than once). I sent you a PM/
