Quick question, should I fastboot back to stock ICS before installing update?

Has "Reboot to Recovery" always worked?

I used ROM Manager to reboot into recovery and it went right into it...I recall this not being the case in previous roms...

Like a few others I rushed to update to JB without updating my su binaries. I tried to use matts tool but it didn't work for me, I ended up having superuser installed but no su. I was poking around my file system using adb and noticed that I had su-backup in "/system/" not "/system/usr/we-need-root/su-backup". I changed matts batch file to reflect that path and everything worked great. So if this is confusing I'm not very good at explaining myself.

Any way you can upload that change if that doesn't step on any toes.... I have the same problem.

I would but I don't really know what I'm doing and wouldn't want to pass out something that could mess up someone's phone. I was just hoping to help anyone more knowledgeable than me to help others.

No problem, I don't blame you. I'll check it out myself to see what I can do, thanks for the idea though.

Can someone confirm if the camcorder and video playback is borked in this build? It sure is for me...

they work just fine for me, you should wipe cache and do a factory reset.

so uh... jelly pics? cant believe no ones posted any

What do you want to see? There's been a few posted here and there. It mostly looks like ICS does though. Different status bar/notification panel, messaging conversations look more like notifications do.
I can't post screenshots as I'm no longer rooted.

I thought so. Could be wrong though. It is a must have feature though.

Also, not that I use it, but I thought the asop JB keyboard had a swipe-ish feature??

AOSP keyboard has that feature in 4.2. This is only 4.1.2, so it's not prevalent in this build.

As of android 4.0, you can take screenshots by pressing vol - and power. no root required.

quick settings (2 finger drag down from notification bar) is a 4.2 feature.

the Razr M launcher has something like this by swiping to the left from the 1st home screen which might be what ultimately gets pushed OTA

I was not aware that this wasn't a rooted feature as I've pretty much always been rooted!
Still not sure what people want to see...

Hi I'm sorry for being such a noob, but I can't seem to flash the JB update.
Here's what I've done:

1- Be running custom rom from Safestrap
2- Use safestrap to go back to Non-Safe side.
3- I'm now on stock 4.0.4
4- Update binaries, OTA rootkeeper to protect root, temp unroot
5- Put JB update on external SD
6- Boot into stock recovery, wipe cache, select Update from External SD
7- Progress begins, but it says something like "error code 7, installation aborted"

Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? Or do I need to use the RAZR Utility? Thanks in advance!

"Something like error code 7"....so, capturing the exact error message didn't seem important? LOL :) It tells you in the error what failed to assert. Without that info, people can only guess or tell you to use Matt's util to go back to a fresh ICS.

Is your stock side on .211? If not, the installation will not complete.

Maxx... what do you want pictures of? I asked you that last time.

Just got my replacement phone. Came with stock ICS .211 as expected. Checked for OTA updates, device is up to date. Waiting for an official update. Whether it's a leak or OTA, I want to know it's official.

Anybody having issues with Adfree? I'm getting a "This copy of Adfree is too old, please update to a newer version" error even though this is the latest version on the market.

I've read some mentions about Matt's new utility... I know there's a restore root utility. Is the other one just an unstuck tool, or does he have a JB utility out already?
