even hashcode doesn't have the key to the locked boot loader, so no, you can't make this into a zip that can be flashed in normal recovery

The question was asking for a flashable zip so that it could be flashed with Safestrap, not the stock recovery.

Lost root. Rootkeeper failed to restore root. Restoreroot failed as well. Hoping for a root method soon.

Merry Christmas to those who celebrate!!!

So, looks like I was not the only one... Looking back, one thing I did not do was upgrade su binary before the upgrade.

BTW, Project Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper said everything was fine too but no worky... Has anyone tried the OTA root keeper in the SU APP?

Update: Restore Root worked for me! Posting the torrent for it as well...Thanks Matt! You are a huge asset to the OG RAZR Community!!!!

Is there a reason why mine says aborted because of a logwrapper fail to find sha1.

Yeah, same problem here. Its because of safestrap.

Try to uninstall recovery...

For those of you that want a more detailed writeup here it goes...

  • Flash back to stock .211 via matt's utility (option 1)
  • After setting up phone again root it via matt's utility (option 2)
  • Download and install Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper
  • Click the "protect root" button
  • Click Temp. Unroot
  • Click Restore Root
  • Click Temp. Unroot again
  • Plug usb into your phone and copy the update over to your external sd card.
  • Hold Power and both Volume Up and Down until boot screen appears
  • From boot screen, scroll down to “Recovery” with Volume Down
  • Press Volume Up to select it once it has been highlighted
  • When Android and exclamation show up, press both Volumes at the same time
  • Then “install update from external storage” and find Blur_Version.6.16.211.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip
  • Flash update (flash will take like 10 minutes)
  • Wipe data (factory reset) <-- Probably optional but recommended
  • After going through initial setup again download Voodoo OTA from market again and click restore root button
  • Download superuser/super su from market
  • PROFIT!
Did this, Step By Step and still failed to Root.! Launched the application/patch BELOW and BINGO! JB and ROOT. Working great so far!

This is the exact steps that I took and I have root. Hopefully this helps out...

Will this affect how ROMs run after the update? Are there any issues with installing ICS safestrap onto a Jelly Bean rom? I assume not, since it leaves stock side alone, in theory.. Just asking, however!

Safestrap will install, but as of now there are no Roms to run on this Kernel, thus making it useless as of the moment. All the previous ICS & JB Roms run on Moto`s ICS Kernel and will not boot.

Yes he knows that. Due to our locked bootloader ALL updates have to go through the Moto recovery. It will NEVER be a safestrap flashable zip

Thanks! Installed and kept root. Everything smooth so far, including signal.
But *#*#info#*#* does not work anymore. Any other way into testing menu?

Thanks for working on this so quickly, Matt. It however does not appear to have worked for me. This is the output from the .bat file:

I installed the update and Jelly Bean is running perfectly. Does anyone know if I can flash back to ICS using Matts utility?
