I currently use bootstrap but that's because the Eclipse ROM requires it. Using Safestrap mucks up the ability to get into an ADB SHELL. Scott/Nitro stated it's because of how Safestrap partitions the system partition and it mucks with how Eclipse is structured.

But, since we now have the fastboot files, there really is no need to go to Safestrap unless a ROM requires it.

I really like safestrap. I like having the option to enter recovery on every boot. That's handy if you bootloop, and it kind of reminds me of GRUB...it's a really nice way to do it!

While I love the idea of living dangerously with Bootstrap, Lately I prefer SS, i cant say why except SS restores without issue, and I still have the non safe system backup if I really over do it with my crackflashing!!!!

I agree.. and with the only way to keep grandfather is to buy phone retail. I'm not risking the chance of mine going up in flames... SAFESTRAP 2.0 only for this guy

You don't have to buy full retail, you can buy from Craigslist, Ebay or Swappa as well.

On an unrelated note....why do you have a Mod signature?

I have a small question. If I backup my safe side (obviously Safestrap 2.11) of my system, data and cache and my nonsafe side is corrupt, can I fastboot reroot reinstall ss2.11 and restore my safe side on my nonsafe? I have the Artic .215 build and it is rock solid and I want to put that on my stock side. Then I can dual boot another legendary rom like kexec! giddy! :)

No, it would be a long process and break stuff like camera functionality.

You could try Whirleye's Bootmenu though. Its in the play store

I just used Matt's utility to Fastboot back to stock, re-root, etc. to clear out Safestrap and any artifacts I had lying around because I like/use stock Blur and wanted to try Google Now so no sense in me having Safestrap so I installed Bootstrap to flash a version of Google Now that someone sent me.

Well I installed safestrap using droid razr utility 1.82 and it completed and said ok but how do I get it to work. Pushing the menu button during startup does nothing. I have ROM manager installed and it says that the Droid Razr is not supported. Please help.
