Anyone experienced GPS issues running AKOP? I cannot get a GPS lock period. Everything else seems to be running good.

Do you get GPS lock on the stock system? Do you mind trying it again for me?

Just tried now..Boot to stock rom and GPS lock took about 5-10 seconds. Boot back to akop and waited for 5 min but no GPS lock. Testing using the Google Navigation. I will admit I have not tried reflashing or much other troubleshooting. Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you get a GPS lock in Maps (not navigation)? I know AOKP builds sometimes have GPS lock issues.

If the issue continues, you will need to reflash (backup!). Here is the fix:

 

• Wipe the ROM 2 slot.
• Boot into stock and run this app:

• Dump GPS data, and then get a GPS lock.
• Boot back into Safestrap.
• Flash ROM (Slot 2).

Interestingly enough I just tried in Maps and it did work. I then used the shortcut from Maps to Navigation and it also is working in Navigation now. Killed both apps and tried just in Navigation and it appears to be working. If the issue reappears I'll try the fix you suggested. Love this rom btw been my daily driver for couple weeks. Thanks!

Yeah, sometimes the GPS config plays up a little. Usually a GPS lock from stock will help, but sometimes a flash may be required.

Ahhhh man, the new test build is gone..........so sad, as sad as a Panda.

Almost ashamed to admit this, but I wasn't aware that AOPK actually had a 'Mobile Hot Spot' process baked into it...after having no success with WiFi Tether and making the mistake of installing FoxFi...I dumped 1.0.3. in favor of a 'pure' AOPK nightly build from the AOPK site.

Later, I found the WiFi option in the 'Settings' menu after Googling 'WiFi' through the Rootzwiki forum for the Spyder build...

 

I gotta say that drinking from the pure AOPK source was hands down the best ROM I've ever run on any of my phones...Smooth, fast, exceptional battery life for my usage.

Mms had all the cool features.

Everything was working great < almost! >

...Too bad the build will not connect to my home WiFi...if I had the time and the patience I would have worked through that problem except that I also discovered the build was not activating my LED notifications despite rebuilding that section a couple of times.

Cannot be having that now...

Even the 'test LED' function would not light the LED...Crap!

 

So I called it at that point and purged slot-2 in order to restore my backup of 1.0.3.

 

So I'm back here (again).

 

All is lessons...I'm still learning them as I continue to explore Android.

I'm dropping to 3G and sometimes no service at all. Anybody else having this problem or know a fix for it?

I'm beginning to think that's an issue with Verizon (in some areas) cause I been having that on stock as well.....

Updated OP to v3.0.3! I will be pushing this via OTA updater this afternoon.

 

This is not a huge update. Things were just refined to provide for a bug-free, buttery smooth, and great battery performance ROM experience. This will most likely be the last update for Aviator Blur. (Unless more bugs are found )

 

Change log v3.0.3 -
Updated Play Store.
Updated most apps and replaced Talk with Hangouts.

Placed launcher into data/app - Easier to remove if wanting to use a different launcher.

Added 4.2.2 Keyboard + lib files.

Reworked GPS tweaks.

Updated ad blocker files - current to 06/01/2013. (system/etc/hosts).

Minor theming changes.

There should be a wallpaper link in the Red Baron OP. If that doesn't work, let me know and I will upload it again.
