Dude, thanks SamuriHL! I saw JB was coming and was just about to start reading old threads to find the exact info u just provided. This phone wouldn't be half of what it is without you and other devs taking its hardware to its full potential. Thanks for sharing your skills.

Oh jeeze. That was easy enough. Googled the problem and found a YouTube video on how to fix. Go into Apps and clear data for Superuser. That was all!

A little late to the party to inform you, but I had to do that also.

Thanks Sam for throwing this topic up.

so when i go into superuser app and try to update the su binary everything says "okay!" all the way to the last line that says "making sure new su works..." and then i get a fail. i tried clearing the data for the superuser app and the problem persists. any ideas? how do i see what version my su binary is currently? ...maybe i don't need to update it. but should i need to, i need to figure a way around this...

off that topic, i assume safestrap will still work with the JB ota? if so, i can just make nandroids of all my rom slots and they will be stored on the sd for when i reinstall safestrap after taking the update correct?

thanks in advance, and thanks for the thread samuri, i never would have thought to go through these motions had you not mentioned any of them...

EDIT: derp moment. i was trying to update su binary while on my cm10 rom slot :P switched to stock and everything is fine. derp derp.

Yes.  And for the record, I've confirmed that this method works to keep root on JB.

Just took the OTA from the JB soak and followed these instructions (needed to purchase elite upgrade on the superuser app I have) exactly as specified.

Update installed & restored SU and verified su is functional.

Sam, really appreciate all your help over the Bionic lifespan --

Why did you have to purchase the elite su

That's odd. I was able to without paying for the elite version of the app. We must have different SU apps.

Updated to 98.72.22 JB after updating Su Binaries and using Voodoo OTA Rootkeeper. Everything went as planned and I am updated with Root access. Btw I did not temporary give up root before updating if anyone is worried about that. I got the OTA from here:

Yeah, you are right, I was on a slow connection & got impatient - now days I pay devs more often than not, really appreciate their work
