Perhaps I missed it... when I fastboot back to .173 does my kernel remain the ICS kernel or does it also revert to the stock .173 kernel?

Heard someone say they fastbooted back to 173 but was still on the ICS kernel...

Ok, so I have a problem.

I can not copy the "Blur_Version.6.12.173.XT912.Verizon.en.US.zip" to the root/cache folder.
-The "Blur_Version.6.12.173.XT912.Verizon.en.US.crc" will copy though.

There is no informative error message so I tried a different program. "Root Explorer" Root Explorer told me that 3MB of 18MB is used in that folder.. I'm thinking this is the problem but what is the cause of this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The zip file is about 458MB. Sounds like you're out of space.

A successful fastboot [to. 173] will revert the kernel to. 173 (radio as well)

did not work for me.

1. did the RSA back 6.12.
2. rooted, installed rom manager free and the es file manager.
3. Changed settings in ES file manager , copied the zip and crc file to the /cache directory.
4. clicked on the zip , rom manager came up and allowed it to reboot itself.
5. No stock recovery andy, boot animation comes up and it clears out the /cache directory when i'm back .

Worked awesome for me. Followed all directions and now I'm up with 4.0.3 and my root is back. Only issue is I can't figure out how to link ring and notification volumes.. I thought ICS did this automatically but for some reason this leak has them separate with no way to link them back? Or am I missing something?

Just wondering if you can factory reset after the upgrade process or will it have ill effects on root ?

You can do a factory reset. You will just have to redownload superuser from the market.
