I mean Verizon is stupid but I don't think they're THAT stupid to not notice that EVERYTHING is different and when they try to fastboot your phone it fails...

Let us know how it turns out tho...

So I just talked with a Verizon rep today via the FCC complaint. I will be receiving a Razr Maxx in exchange for my Razr. Do you guys think it will be an issue that my Razr is running OS .84?

How exactly are they exchanging your RAZR for a Maxx? Fraud?

What do you mean? I just filed a similar complaint to the ones other people have filed to the FCC. Since I had been a customer for over a decade, and explained how I had invested in the portable charger, wall chargers, used smart actions, etc. I was told I could exchange my Razr for a certified "like new" Razr Maxx. ....It would be pretty funny if the Maxx I get is on .84 too lol

You think poor battery life is bad? The pad of my right index finger is flat and shiny from sliding it around on the Razr Maxx gorilla glass.

I'm horribly maimed. Permanently disfigured. People pass me in the street, see my glossy finger and laugh.

I'm filing a complaint with the FCC, and requesting a free lapdock and $300 to make me STFU about it.

Wish me luck.

No need to troll or flame. If there wasn't an issue... I wouldn't be sending this message on my maxx now would I?

No, you misunderstand!

You saw an opportunity to upgrade your phone, acquire some beer, and get all of us to pay for it, so you grabbed it.

It's brilliant! You are, in effect, forcing a socialist bureuacracy (the FCC) to use capitalism (a ruling) as a financial weapon (Razr Maxx + $300) against socialist bureaucratic processes. This is the most subtle revolutionary act I've ever witnessed!

Have you seen "V for Vendetta"? You're that V guy, only different!

EDIT: (/humor) You do know that we all pay (a lot) for people who do things like this, right? This may have been the straw that broke VZW's back on grandfathered unlimited data, for all I know. Don't expect everyone to chortle conspiratorily at your clever "use of the system".

I hate to agree with you because of the tone you take... but you are (mostly) right. The OG razr doesn't have sub-par battery life compared to a stock Nexus or Rezound. Its battery life was pretty standard at the time of release. So it's not that the phone was deficient, its more that the Maxx is superior with regard to battery life.

No stock phone can get 24 hours of battery. 10-12 hours for heavy use is good foe any smartphone. Which is about what I get on my 84 OG razr. Would I like to complain and get a phone with better battery for free? Sure. But I just can't do it. Even as much as I hate Vz and Moto.

I've modified so I just can't in good faith blame it on anyone else knowing that I voided my warranty basically the second I got it.

Lol didn't get 300 bucks. They offered a battery pack at first at 50% off. Next thing I know the rep changed her mind after I said I'll think about it and call back. We had a very pleasant off topic conversation too.

And vzw will just resell the phone recertified locking someone else in a 2 year contract. Its not my fault you lack charisma.

Good off topic convos with customer service reps are the KEY to good service :) works like a charm for me... I've gotten all kinds of crap waived and replaced and returned by just being nice and talking to them like people. What a concept lol

Always be nice.. No reason to be mad, or yell at them. They are human to.. But I've started several off topic discussions and talked to some people that I wish were my sales rep vs the one that I have now...

I talked to the Andrea Matia in the Execute Offices of Verizon Wireless today about my FCC complaint...

I told her I felt ripped off because I purchased the RAZR and only weeks later an updated RAZR MAXX was put on the market. That my phone get's terrible battery life. And that I've exhausted all options to save battery life (I use 4G toggle to switch to CDMA when not in LTE zones, have app killer, have startup manager, use wi-fi at home only... you get the point)

She explained to me that I took responsibility for buying the phone and that I wouldn't get a replacement. That I needed to go to a VZW store and learn about power saving options... I told her that the MAXX came out MAINLY BECAUSE OF THE EXTENDED BATTERY LIFE... She said it came out for a a variety of reasons.... the thing is she works for VERIZON not MOTOROLA. She isn't a tech or anything like that. I explained to her there was a live streaming video of the RAZR putting on display how long the battery life lasts.

In the top two rows it clearly shows why the phone came out. The woman explained that I am not entitled to a MAXX replacement... So thats my story. Now I'm furious! STAY AWAY FROM GREYHOUND TOO! AHHHHHH !@#!$!%@!%!@%!@#!

That's unfortunate. The man I spoke with was very nice and understanding.
