Hey guys. I accidentally discovered a way that may charge your phone when it's bricked. This is a case by case basis though, so I don't want to give any false hope or misinformation. We all know that being in Fastboot doesnt charge the phone....and this isnt the "hardwire" method or "factory cable" method.

For me, I did a soft brick on my phone and I wasn't able to restore it through Fastboot or RSD Lite due to the lack of charge. (and couldnt get into Clockwork recovery)

However, when i plugged the dead phone into my laptop with my usb cable, I got a solid white LED light. (didn't work for when i plugged it into the wall). After a few minutes, I unplugged it from the laptop. It wouldn't come on though until I plugged it into the wall.

Once it came on, I still was stuck at the Moto logo (couldnt access any recovery). I unplugged it from the wall and was able to get back into fastboot. After a few seconds, the battery died.

Repeated the steps above.... let it stay in the laptop longer... got a longer battery life before it died.

Repeated steps again... let it stay even longer (plug into laptop while off > got white LED light > plugged into wall to cut on > unplugged and got into fastboot) and got even longer battery life.

I was eventually able to get enough battery life to get into stock recovery and master reset the phone to fix it.

Hope this helps someone. I haven't been able to confirm through any other official sources or forums that the white LED light means its charging. Only possible info is that once you get into fastboot it will say "Battery low, plug in USB data cable" which has to mean something...

I bought a $40 factory cable from TBH and that works great! I don't ever have to worry about my battery when I use RSD Lite, as long as I have that cable connected to my PC.
