Lol OK you crc folks.... duh I just clicked the link. There's extra html output in there that's why it looks wonky - its not your computer. It just needs to be fixed on rombot

[ pull this thread as I walk away... ]

Exactly! It has extra info in it, so technically, its not really a .crc file as it should just have the 3049463606 information in it, and not all the extra <html> etc stuff.

FYI, the link I used, is

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

and it does work, and saves as a .crc of the correct size. Right click and save, otherwise it'll just open a window, and show you the number (3049463606).

FYI the .79 build works the same way and can be fastbooted back to GB. Ie the only 2 ICS leaks we can fastboot back from are the 75 & 79 builds which I know for certain as I just messed with both 75 & 79 builds yesterday. Anyone who used 84/85.203/204/206 are stuck and off path.

Different note tho. You mentioned Cm9 from Dhacker, which build did you install? Only reason I ask is I have a link to some test roms he had done and not sure if its the same one you are mentioning.

I have IMM76D in the build version. He just posted it on droidhive last night. Data is a little finniky but it's a very nice build.

What baseband and kernel? I may have knowledge of a certain monochrome rom almost ready for the leaks

.75 but it works for all of the leaks. But remember, only .75 and .79 can fastboot if something happens.

That's what I thought may do .79 for the .181 base and better 3g radio since you having issues

Why do I get the feeling that this guys is full of it.???
if I understand the process correctly if you try to install 206 over 204 you will end up with a soft brick phone right???
until someone trustworthy confirms this I would not try it.

Actually, it looks like the 206 build will install over the 204 (full) build. I appear to be stuck on 203 so can't verify, but the following assert statement in the 206 build leads me to believe that doing it over 204 is possible. The upgrade script is looking for a 2.3.6 build or 4.0.4.

assert(file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "verizon/spyder_vzw/cdma_spyder:2.3.6/6.5.1-167_DHD-14_M3-8/120308:user/release-keys" ||
file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "verizon/spyder_vzw/cdma_spyder:4.0.4/6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-26/14:user/release-keys");

Edit: Nevermind, just means that it can be installed over itself. 203's file looks like

assert(file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "verizon/spyder_vzw/cdma_spyder:2.3.6/6.5.1-167_DHD-14_M3-8/120308:user/release-keys" ||
file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "verizon/spyder_vzw/cdma_spyder:4.0.4/6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-23/11:user/release-keys");

So, either full file can be installed over itself after doing the upgrade without damage.

(1) because of the signature verification process, and
(2) because the script's integrity checks would all fail since our hashes are all different from stock 181

There's might be an exception, but I don't know what it is

Can someone post instructions to install this ICS leak on .181? (I am aware that there is no way back to GB)

Thanks!

Thanks! Are you refering to the .84 leak which involves ES file and ROM Manager? If not, can you point me in the right direction?

You can't. I misread the version. See my edit above. You can only flash 203, 204, or 206 over itself or 181.
Editing the file isn't quite enough either. Even if you could resign the file, you'd have to make sure all the installed files were correct version wise when applying the update. If it tried to patch a file rather than overwriting it with the wrong version, your system would be toast.

Yep same for that one too. Its the same for 79 as well.

I know you already said so but just to clear my conscience... you do realize this may well be the last build you ever flash right? And with only minimal safety net if you brick, which is easy on an unfastbootable build, you will not br able to fool Verizon into a warranty replacement... you'll be buying a new phone.

Yes I do realize that. Thanks for the heads up again.

With regards to installing the leak over .181, I followed the procedure i.e I coped over the leaked build into the \cache folder and clicked on the build which took me to ROM Manager, after pressing OK on wipe cache, phone rebooted and nothing happend. Anything I might be doing wrong?

don't do it. Not worth it until a reliable method back to the rabbit hole is found

Np. Are you rooted? If yes, uninstall rom manager and reinstall and try again.
