Why do I get the feeling that this guys is full of it.???
if I understand the process correctly if you try to install 206 over 204 you will end up with a soft brick phone right???
until someone trustworthy confirms this I would not try it.
Actually, it looks like the 206 build will install over the 204 (full) build. I appear to be stuck on 203 so can't verify, but the following assert statement in the 206 build leads me to believe that doing it over 204 is possible. The upgrade script is looking for a 2.3.6 build or 4.0.4.
assert(file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "verizon/spyder_vzw/cdma_spyder:2.3.6/6.5.1-167_DHD-14_M3-8/120308:user/release-keys" ||
file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "verizon/spyder_vzw/cdma_spyder:4.0.4/6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-
26/14:user/release-keys");
Edit: Nevermind, just means that it can be installed over itself. 203's file looks likeassert(file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "verizon/spyder_vzw/cdma_spyder:2.3.6/6.5.1-167_DHD-14_M3-8/120308:user/release-keys" ||
file_getprop("/system/build.prop", "ro.build.fingerprint") == "verizon/spyder_vzw/cdma_spyder:4.0.4/6.7.2-180_DHD-16_M4-
23/11:user/release-keys");
So, either full file can be installed over itself after doing the upgrade without damage.
