No you have to do the go back to .181 and then reupdate. That's the only way since you have to upgrade from .181 for the official ICS

Thanks. Sorry for the noob questions here, I thought I couldn't go back to 181. Then again i did use Matt's unstuck tool on it. So if i use his utility to go back to 181 go through the steps to install 208 and then unstuck that i should be ok. The reason I'm asking this is because im having all sorts of wifi issues on 206. My dld speeds are 300kbs where my xoom is 12 mbs. Not sure if it's the rom or the Maxx.

Here's a stupid quesion but when I hit the update button on the phone it tells me that im up to date and no updates available (standard message) here's my question....If we're off path would we still get that message? im on .206. Sorry for the stupid question.

Yes that is exactly the message you would get if you are off path. It is a dumb app that only looks to see if there is an approved update file for the software version you are on. If it does not see the appropriate file on the servers, it will return your message. Since you are off path on .206 you will get this message forever since no approved file will be released to update .206. (Assuming that .208 or some other update is the OTA, which it appears now that .206 will not be.)

There were lots of 4G issues on the .7x early builds. I see what you're trying to say but I doubt that's the case. When the OTA is released that warning will still be posted, until we have ICS fastboot files.

Which its why I've been reluctant to go to a non fastbootable leak. 78 and 79 gave me major 4G issues.

if you read the threads on the ics leaks, flash is hit and miss for people. I just tried youtube and southpark studios on .206 and it worked just fine. For some people flash doesn't work. If flash isn't working for youon .79 maybe go back to Gingerbread?

So here are sone issues with. 208:

Backlight soft keys keeps shutting off and won't stay on.

Data was weird when I first booted, worked but after setup was finished couldn't go on internet and only gray bars would show.

This is not going to be the official so another build should be leaked soon.

I have it installed but I can't feasibly go through everything and remember how different it is from 206... It's kind of a ridiculous quest to send someone on.

I will check on my spare og RAZR as soon as there's a way to go to. 206 to 208. I'm from the us in Italy right now. The important thing to me is being able to pop in a prepaid sim and connect over here (which I'm doing right now )

Yeah, I'm staying on 206 until there's a good reason to move off or the official OTA comes out. As of now, 206 is completely stable for me.

Matt's Utility should re-root it for you. Worth a shot at least.

Use the same root method for 206. Flash the boot85.img, root, reflash boot208.img. done!

Update su binaries. As long as you have superuser as a system app you SHOULD be ok. Emphasis on should.
