Mine didn't boot loop, it just wouldn't flash in twrp or cwm. The error I got said updater script failed. I asked via private message if there was any way he could make a regular zip file (non recovery flashable) containing only a system.img and a boot.img to flash via fastboot. Also, when I have pulled other ROM zips apart, that's what they contained. But to me, just writing two compiled IMG files seems easier. It may not be possible to get the end result he wants that way though. Maybe it has to flash basically a stock img, then update/add the things he wants in this ROM. BTW, it was beta 8. Also, OP couldn't u download an android emulator online, then change the specs to the RAZR m, and test this way without having the physical device. I know this is possible if you have the right software, which I believe is in the SDK. Maybe not, though. I don't remember.

Basically like virtualbox is for testing desktop OSes. I know this is the method a lot of devas use, when developing mass ROMs because they can't own 50 devices. It isn't practical. I would guess in the Android emulator it would give options when opening like Brand(moto) , board (msm8960), processor, screen size. Then I believe you can insert a stock XML, then from there install custom recoveries.
PS this is just an idea. I know the possibility exists, I just don't know all the details. And honestly I was thinking about trying to build a stock ROM myself. Possibly with me having the actual device, and your expertise, we could get something working well. If I can get a beta to actually boot, I can provide logcats or whatever you need.

Are you guys mounting system after wipe? I didn't change the updater script or binary at all so I don't understand the failures...unless system isn't mounted

Yes, I wipe system, wipe cache, mount system, flash zip.

 I even tried mounting everything.

I also tried wipe system, wipe cache, reboot recovery, and then mount system.

That's effing weird. It is failing to flash in recovery right? What exactly is the error?

Of course it bombs. It was zipped in a redundant folder!

To all: extract the test, select all from the useless folder, select cut from rootexpl, go up to the root of test..., choose move here, trash the folder, go up, longpress on test..., zip..

Nice way to point out an error a$$ho!e! It's a$$ho!es like you why there's so little development for this device. My pacience is about gone with this damn site and the way it's treated the rest of my team anyway! As I do appreciate you pointing out a mistake, you don't have to be so smug about it. I do this for fun...no more, no less, to give something for FREE. Responses like yours will only quickly drive me to scrap the damn project.

Pretty sure he wasn't being a shlong. You just took it poorly because he used the word redundant.
