Im not sure if im allowed to ask this, but is the last kitstalk updated pre kitkat bootloader still available for download somewhere? I dont see it in the rom download page, and ive wiped my pc since then so I dont have some of the older releases. I wanted it to try a comparison between this most recent update that uses jb bootloader, and the last release done prior to switching to kk bootloader. Im still having the same wifi issues as with kk based bootloader rom x.x

I am waiting for Scott to update to it. That is beyond my knowledge of changing the theme chooser. But trust me, as soon as he updates it Kitstalk will have it too.

EDIT: Also, I do have root access but have been unable to change the DPI x.x

If you think it could be a hardware issue you can test it against cm11 builds pre 7-1-14. I've got no wifi issues on the latest KitStalk build

Hmm, wifi should be fine. I'll check it later. Anyone else having WiFi issues on new jb build?
I can fix the lcd in the next build but for now go to the market and download a build.prop editor. And add " ro.sf.lcd_density=xxx" replacing xxx with the density you want

WIFI has always worked for me the problem im having is the gps still will not work right and cant use the workaround after you switch back to jb bootloader

Restore your nandroid of your stock system, get a gps lock. Then keeping it locked reboot to recovery and restore your current setup.

Well you can fxz to a latest FXZ. Get a gps lock, flash twrp 2.7.1.0 in fastboot and then do the process of going back to JB.

i tried this i did FXZ to latest kk firmware i then re unlocked my phone rooted and installed recovery with rashr from play store then i turned gps on got a lock i then went back to my recovery and installed the jb bootloader zip but the problem is once you have that installed you must format everything because it says cant mount data once i did this the gps no longer locks ...im not trying to be a pain just im clueless what to do thanks for assisting me

That should work, it's the only fix. Let me ask around and see what I can figure out.

I get turn by turn navigation is only available on devices with GPS hardware

Fxz to the last jb 9.30.1 that's the great thing about being unlocked. Just when you edit the fxz make sure to and gpt are not being flashed. Their the only partitions that can't be downgraded on an unlocked phone. Also once unlocked your golden no need to unlock again ever

OK, just got an answer. Flash any JB based STOCK rom and get yourself a GPS lock. Once you have a GPS lock then reboot into recovery while leaving GPS on. Do your usual wipes (data, cache, dalvik and system...all three times) then flash kitstalk, gapps 4.4.4 and supersu if you want. You should now have a GPS lock on kitstalk.

Edit the FXZ to not flash the GPT and TZ, both cannot be flashed if downgraded to JB

I tried the new jb build and my WiFi was terribly slow. Data was nice and fast.

1- Backup you current build in TWRP, then do a full wipe.

2- Restore your nandroid backup of the stock ROM (the KK FXZ) if you don't have it then FXZ to KK

3 - Get a GPS lock.

4 - Immediately after you have a good lock on your position, reboot into recovery, do a full wipe (3 times)

5 - Restore your backup from step one.

 

Side note: As long as you have a GPS lock prior to doing all the wipes in recovery you will always have GPS
