I need help. I used jb dual boot to get jb kernel about two weeks ago and have been using different roms based on jb kernel and felt that it was time to do a restore using this utility. i do this every so often. I know how to do it and had no problems with jbdualboot either. I read somewhere that you can use the matts 1.82 utility without flashing the kernel back to ics kernel so thats what i attempted but after being stuck at the screen on the picture for over 15 minutes i knew something was wrong and hit control c. than hit n to continue the rest but it got stuck again and than i cancelled the batch operation and grabbed went back to using the stock motorola cable instead of the factory cable i was using but the same thing happened again. i stopped it again and reinstalled the drivers and this time went to jbdualboot to install the ics kernel which went fine and tried matts utility again but still the _ keeps flashing after writing system. is there something i missed this time? i dont know what to do since i feel like im doing the same thing that ive done many times before (which have all worked). this is the first time i have experienced this

sorry for the long description but i want you to know exactly what happened to give the best help. TIA

EDIT: not sure what i did to fix it but its working again
I did multiple things-uninstalled drivers
reinstalled drivers
flashed stock boot logo (i had the team black hat logo)
manually uninstalled the first driver to install (while phone was already in ap fb mode when i connected)
disconnected phone from computer to install driver by reconnecting it
while still connected i powered off and held all three buttons and selected recovery which gave an error and brought to ap fb with writing at top that said flash failure
than powered off again and held all three to select ap fb mode and tried matts utility and it worked this time

Dont know what prevented it from working the first three times. i was thinking it could be a windows driver thing but didn't make sense to me since it was working with those other commands shown in picture. i would think that the windows driver problems would cause it not to work from the get-go

I know this is probably an old post, but I'm trying to eventually get my Razr Maxx to JB, but have been told I have to start here. I have no idea how to proceed, as other sites told me that I need to download the update, the utility, a rootkeeper, and a safestrap. This posting only has a torrent and two utilities to download. is there anyone who can walk me through this before I jump off my balcony?

I just tried Matt's 1.82 dowload with the fastboot restore to 6.16.211 and then the ICS Root 4.04, but it still told me I'm on the 6.16.215.XT912.Verizon.en.US Now I have no idea what to do. I dowloaded the file to my PC, extracted it, ran the utility file with the wheel on it, did step one fastboot restore and step two ICS root 4.04, but couldn't do anything with step 3 or 4, and I wound up back to the 6016.215. Is there an actual step by step process for people who are struggling like I am?

where exactly are you seeing the 6.16.215 after running option 1 of the utility? in your about phone?

I followed the instructions. I am on stock JB 4.1.1 trying to go back to ICS. After I select AP fast boot. i get several failed messages....After attempting twice I powered down m phone told it to boot normal. The phone had been restored to factory but still on JB 4.1.1

Newbie trying to root my Droid Razr Maxx. Deleted the drivers and restarted my computer. Then clicked on reinstall drivers and pulgged my phone in. Have USB buggine enabled. Have it set to allow mock locations. Have it set to MTP. But when I run the utility it sits there and tells me "waiting for device"

Would not having my sd card installed have anything to do with it? Any help would be appreciated.

Adb is not recognizing my phone on my laptop.

when you are finished re-installing the drivers...... switch the USB mode from MTP to camera, wait for windows to recognise it and finish installing drivers.... then switch to Mass Storage wait for windows to recognize it and finish installing drivers..... then switch back to MTP.... once windows recognizes the phone again, ADB should see your phone...... in some cases you need to disable all antivirus programs and you may also need to boot into AP Fastboot, wait till windows finishes installing the ADB drivers...... :)
