It never showed the screen where it extracts the files.  The selected extraction directory was empty.  I definitely missed the earlier instruction to extract manually.  Sorry for wasting your time.  Flashing now...

RSD Flasher 1.7 released

o) Fracktons of UI enhancements.  If your extract fails, you'll know about it.  Cancel button on any of the file/folder select dialogs will exit the app.

RSD Flasher 1.8 released

o) Updated version to add FULL option to FXZ's that are shipping by default as "KEEP DATA".  What I mean is that for the 2013 Droid's 4.4.4 FXZ, they shipped the XML without the erase userdata option.  This is great, but, if you want to do an actual full, you have to add that line back in.  The RSD Flasher now does that.

RSD Flasher 1.9 released

Last one for today I hope.  :)

o)  Added new checkbox to generate scripts only.  This allows me to retire the RSD Generator program since you can use this to do the same thing with a bit more functionality for setting up your FXZ.  Now you have the option of automating flashing of the script you choose or simply generating it and manually flashing it.

I wouldn't call it simpler.  Just more informative of the process.  LMAO :D  And yes, I moved it up to beta since it's been working well for so many people.  At this point it's got enough error checking that people should know what's happening when they run it.

Hi.I've got a problem I flashed my X926 with omni & it will drip the WIFI and a couple of other glitches so I was going  to try a different ROM but I cant get anything else to flash , I cant get RSD to recognize my phone at all . I'm rooted with a unlocked bootloader and I can get back into Teamwin recovery but I get flash failed when I try to flash back to a stock ROM and just a bootloop if I try to flash anything besides the omni rom. Somehow I erased my back up of my original rom but I got got the back up of the omni. I am trying to use this with the RDSFlasher but when I open the jar file I cannot find my EXE file for when I open the jar file. I have used the other script to relocate it but still nothing. Can anyone help me please? I have tried to use ADB commands & I cant get it to do very much. It will find my phone but I cant push a stock KDZ file using it either. I'm using Windows 7, 64 bit and a new factory code. I have flashed several other phones without problems but I cant figure this out so I'm asking you guys? Thanks

What do you mean you "can't find my EXE file for when I open the jar file"?  If you mean you can't get the jar file to run, that's a problem with your machine and I don't do general machine troubleshooting.  You need to fix your java install in that case.  It's an executable jar so when you double click it in Windows, the first screen shot pops up.  If that's not happening on your machine, you should fix your java install.

Sorry I wasn't clear, I cannot find the SDL.exe file when I open the jar file. I go to my RDS folder & it's empty.. I have the latest Java installed, and I have ran the RDS flasher but since I can't find the SDL.exe it stops after extracting the .xml.zip file. Thanks for taking the time to read through and trying to help. I'm not sure why my RDSlite 6.16 does not find the phone because I have a couple of other programs that find it in both Fastboot & regular mode.

A few things....you should be going to the folder where you INSTALLED RSD Lite.  This is typically in your program files directory somewhere if you used the installer.  That's where the SDL.exe file is going to be.  Second, if RSD is not finding your phone, this program isn't going to help you.  All it does is create scripts and automate opening RSD and flashing them.  This is not going to magically make your phone appear in RSD.  So that's an issue you'll have to solve in order to get this to work.  This program is simply designed to make flashing with RSD easier...that's all.

Okay thanks I was thinking that it wasn't going to change anything between RDS not finding my phone if it ran through this program or if I run it from the desktop shortcut in Administrator mode. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do to try & find out why RDS  doesn't find my phone? I can open a  command prompt and run ADB & it will give me a serial # for my phone.

Well for one the phone has to be in AP Fastboot mode, so if ADB is finding it, you aren't in AP Fastboot mode.

Hi, so what is supposed to happen when I get to the FLASH FULL button and I've plugged the phone in? Nothing is happening, and I have no real clue as to what information you need to help me?!

Well, according to the OP that you were supposed to read very carefully.....

once you press the button, the script will be generated, RSD will open, and start to flash the script.  The program will close once RSD is opened.

If RSD isn't opening, or is opening and then closing then it's not finding your phone or your FXZ is wrong.  Neither of those things are anything I can fix for you.  You can open RSD manually, select the generated script in your FXZ folder, and flash it manually.

RSD Flasher 2.0 release (SIGH)

o) Added option to open RSD Lite but to NOT start flashing.  Those of you with all these screwed up problems of RSD Flasher "not doing anything" when you click a button can select the new checkbox to load RSD with the script selected.  Then you can tell it to flash when it's detecting your phone properly....which is what 99% of the problems end up being.

Ok, I think I had better give up! I have no idea what you are talking about ...no offence meant.. It's just that I really have zero knowledge of all these different files and where to look for them. When I got to that flash full box I thought I'd done it! I tried to read the instructions but I think alot of prior knowledge is assumed. Thanks anyway

There's no prior knowledge assumed.  The assumption is that you read and follow directions.  I just released a new version of the RSD Flasher so you can try again.  Select the checkbox that says "Open RSD but do not flash?" and then click the FULL button again.  This time it'll open RSD Lite and not try to automatically flash.  One thing that is assumed is that you know how to put your phone in AP Fastboot mode.  If you skipped over that then yes, that would be the reason it failed.  If you don't know how to do a step that's outlined you should ask and we'll help.

I've put it in ap fastboot. I've obviously done something wrong somewhere. I've followed the new step, but I don't think it is recognising my phone. When I press show device, nothing happens. I really can appreciate how frustrating it must be when it seems that people can't read and follow instructions, but to me the instructions really are in a foreign language! I think perhaps I have bitten a bit more off than I can swallow! For example..the step after finding the sdl.exe file...finding the fxz's xml file. I'm not sure which one that is.
