hey guys..

ever since i rooted my razr, i installed droidwall which does its job rather fine..

however, i need some help here..

background:
everyday when i switch on my computer, the Avast antivirus on my PC will announce that avast is updated.. but since i got my razr, it will tell me avast for android is available.. so the curious me downloaded avast for android, and noticed it has firewall as well (for rooted phones only).

now.. my question is.. which one is better? droidwall or avast firewall?

btw, i also have lookout installed on my phone.. if avast firewall is on par or better than droidwall, i would uninstall droidwall and lookout, and have only 1 app to run it all.

looking at ratings, both lookout and avast has the same rating, 4.5 stars.

some help is appreciated.

thanks.

Never saw a need for it. Seems a waist of space and resources, but i have friend who uses avast and preferred it over what he had prior (don't know what). So I'm sure there beee's someone on hear with good guidance.

thanks.. for me, i use it to block bloatware and other (almost all games) and most of my applications access to my data, and internet.

you'll be surprised how much my battery is extended, without needing to use those batt savers which basically just cuts off background sync and all data connections.

so using these applications, i save battery by only allowing email sync, calendar sync, contacts sync, greader, whatsapp, line, viber etc.. others is all blocked.

not to mention the amount of data transfer i reduced thanks to these firewall..

I had some trouble trying to find an app that was giving me unwanted notifications and when nothing else could find it ,it did! S I guess you know what my answer is. I tried everything someone would suggest. Avast found it. I'm not trying to push Avast either .......just sayn'. With some help from SideKick!
