This is an enjoyable thread to say the least :-) . My .02 on the situation? Well I've owned every moto phone on VZW since the D1. At heart I love Motorola's build quality, radio's, battery life and longevity to user wear & tear. Am I a fanboy? Sorta. I always said Samsung devices where junk and there radios where horrendous; I've owned my fair share of them also. So fast forward to a few months ago , I got sick of VZW and finally gave up 2 unlimited lines and went to ATT. For me att has better LTE in Pittsburgh and better prices. So I picked up a Galaxy note 2 . I always said I would never use a phone that big, but I ended up falling in love with it. Honestly it's the first phone that hasn't gotten old with me and keeps me content. Bottom line Moto needs a huge hail mary to jump back in it. Is the Moto X a iPhone killer?.... Nope. It has nice specs and looks cool but the nail in the coffin is $$$$$. If they want to contend with market shares they need to put out a phone of that caliber at a lower price . In all fairness 300 off contract , I would probably get one, unlocked of course. Plus the hype that led up to this new moto lineup was massive! It was doomed from the gate. I am not bias, now a days, it comes down to what you want in a phone and why. For this guy, I don't see anything pulling me away from my gnote 2 anytime soon.

I have read a lot of reviews saying they aren't much different. The s4's snapdragon 600 and adreno 320 double the performance of the dual core adreno 225 s3 and its the most powerful android smartphone on the market. What more do you want it to do to say its much different lol

It's interesting I was rather disappointed with the Moto X and Droid Line, which perked my interest towards the Note 3. But, now with a Motorola Nexus coming out in Q4, I may just have to stay with Motorola. I would be curious to know of those that are interesting purchasing a Moto X or new Droid, of those who would rather purchase a Motorola Nexus?

I would rather purchase anything Nexus... the only downside to them is that they're only for GSM networks and they can feel a bit cheap.

I'm there too. I really hope that Motorola can turn things around.

The only time I possibly considered the X, was when rumors were stating a 16gb version would cost $299 and a 32gb would cost $349. The current price point is expensive for what that device is, considering most software highlights are in the Playstore as it is (same goes for the Droid line, look at the app called "utter!" for example.)

Well, sold off my S3 and RAZR HD Dev Edition. I transferred my wife's upgrade to my mom's line, ordered an S4. Going to sale that and buy a Moto X dev edition for VZW, then wait and hope a Nexus come to Verizon.

Exactly, we seem to be in a "space race" . Reffering to all these OEM'S wanting to push ten gigawatt processors blah blah blah. IMO , A quadcore phone with the GPU's that they are using are more then enough . They should focus on the software more and give a smooth consistent, user experience. I'm not saying JB is bad, but in the future things could be considerably more fluid and more useful options.

I'd love to go GSM but no T-Mobile where I live in PA. AT&T only has 3G. I'm stuck on VZW if I want coverage.

Johnstown.... about 80 miles east of Pittsburgh.

It's pretty much right in between the Burgh and State College.

Ahh OK I've been out that way. I'm 15 min north of Pittsburgh. I thought ATT put 4G out by state college, or maybe they plan on it.

State College, Altoona, Monroeville, Greensburg all got AT&T 4G. Hopefully it comes here soon. Only issue would be loosing unlimited data.

i will keep my Droid M because it has an unlocked bootloader.. having that said i think if anything were to happen to my phone i would be most def going into an HTC One (hopefully available on Verizon) if not, than ,even its a bit old, Droid DNA sound about right for me... enough of Motorola and verizon telling us what to do with the stuff we buy and we are rightfull owners of.. its like a car dealer telling me if you buy this car you cant put a better stereo in it or cant change the paint job... foolishness.. just my thoughts..

Been on TMo since April and I've not dropped a single call.

Also, its not that CDMA penetrates buildings better, it's that VZW is on a lower frequency than other GSM US carriers and its the 850Mhz frequency they use for calls that penetrates buildings better.
