Are you trying to get into recovery?? I think it's just press both volumes to bring the words up. Press not hold.

right... I tried both actually. just pressed as if it was one button, didn't move. held for afew seconds, didn't move. couldn't even get phone to boot into anything for a while, soft brick. Got it back using the other utility.so now phone works again but still tryhing to root with no success.

What part are you stuck on with rooting?

once i start that RAZR blade, it will just sit there and say 'waiting for phone". mtp and debugging is on.

Are you sure you havent had any updates? If your still ICS, then you probably need to use 1.82 to return to clean Stock ICS so you can move forward. From there, you probably would get the OTA, or you could update via sideload.

Hey. I am having the problem with the red M coming up, then a black screen after doing option 1 from the 1.82 utility. It worked once, but I hosed things up by restoring system data from titanium. The only thing I can do is get into the AP boot screen and retry. Then later I can get into recovery, but always get back to the black screen. I get the error in the writing boot line - Info preflash validation failure. Any ideas? I have wiped data and cache with no help. I have the required files on my SD card and have the 1.70..82. ad 1.90 utilities available.

Option " 1 " was completed with no erros. Did twice.

I downloaded this morning (1.90), is there an update?

I posted above about getting stuck on the black screen. I kept trying and was finally able to install the leak from the SD card after using 1.82 option 1. Now I am going to charge the phone which was almost dead after a day of screwing around, then do the leak to JB update. I have no idea what made this work as I had tried this and several other things before. At least I have a phone that works on the JB leak. Note that restoring system data from Titanium backup is a bad idea after updating to JB from ICS. If you are having trouble getting into recovery look at the post at the bottom of page 3 of this

This morning I downloaded both 1.82 and 1.90 utilities.
I ran the 1.82 with no problems, phone got back to clear ICS. The phone updated itself to JB.
Now, I ran 1.90, option 1 with no erros.
But now I cannot go to recovery no matter what I do.

Correct me if I'm wrong...
Looking the extract files from the 1.82, I can see a zip file named "Recovery", and
looking the extract files from the 1.90 there's no such a file on the folder.
Am I missing the file or is not there because I don't need it
