I don't think public will get release until at least tomorrow. That is my guess and not based on anything from any of the devs.

So what are the practical benefits of an unlocked bootloader? I know it allows you to flash new kernels, but what do new kernals do? I've never had an unlockable phone, so I'm a n00b in this department.

I may have an XT925 with an unlocked bootloader already but this news makes me very happy!

I wonder what type exploit it will be Ive only unlocked Sammys as far as rooting and stuff Moto always seemed to be easier but this may be different. What ever it is Im ready. Once your bootloader is unlocked there is not a damn thing Moto can do about it except void your waranty lol

So what does unlocked bootloaders on Verizon mean for Google Wallet? Will we FINALLY be able to access the secure element and be able to bypass the VZW bull$#!+ preventing it?

Some truly insane work here. Once you have it unlocked and get a custom recovery on it, basically you never have to worry about losing root again. So even if there isn't a lot of development going on, this is still very valuable. Nice work, Dan! As always.

Before anyone asks, this will NOT work on the OMAP based Motorola phones like the DROID RAZR XT912 or the DROID BIONIC XT875.

OK, That said, is he working on the XT912 or like always did I make a bad choice when I chose that phone? Not trying to seem cynical but my previous Droid X seemed to be a poor choice as well.

There's nothing to work on. I wish people would understand this concept. The OMAP4 phones had the eFuse blown at the factory which locks them. These new phones require the eFuse to be blown to unlock them. There's nothing, short of acquiring the signing keys from moto to sign your own updates, that can be done for OMAP4 phones.

Wow..I can't believe what I've just read. This is a really amazing work! Thanks to D Rosenberg and all those involved in testing!

No, they can't void your warranty with this unlock route. They would need proof. And since you're not registering you device with Motodev with this, they have NO IDEA who's gonna be unlock and who isn't.

No, I'm Sorry. There is 2 people who can unlock an XT912 or ANY OMAP device and that is the Motorola security team and ummm, God. That's it. There is NO WAY. NEVER EVER it can be done without DIRECT Motorola server hacking.
