So it doesn’t look like much, but this little miniature PC has something I’m betting your phone doesn't, Android 4.1.1.

The Droid Stick T10 by Kimdecent features a 1.6 Ghz dual-core ARM Cortex-A9 processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and ARM Mali 400 graphics. Also, like so many manufacturers of these strange little devices we’ve seen popping up over the last few months, Kimdecent has decided to incorporate the latest version of Android in the tree; the coveted Jelly Bean.

Yeah, but how does it connect, you ask? Very well. With a full-sized USB 2.0 port, 2 mini USB ports, integrated Wifi, a micro SD card slot and an HDMI port, you will likely run out of peripherals before you do ports.

One thing interesting in the reviews and articles on this device is the fact that this little guy managed to get Google’s blessing; it comes with the Play Store preloaded. While this is not a difficult task necessarily, it does show that the company put enough into the build of this thing to be considered worthy; which is a lot more than can be said for the vast majority of random hardware that hits the shelves these days. The Droid Stick T10 can be purchased through Kimdecent.com.

So what do you think? Have you ever purchased one of these “mini-computers” or seen any reason to?

I didn't see a price. I'll stick to my laptop and phone using HDMI on my tv.

I believe I saw the price set at about $72.

As far as how they work, there have been a rash of these devices lately starting (I believe) with the Raspberry Pi. They are basically small devices with the inner workings of an android device (minus any communication radios save for WiFi) and what is becoming a plethora of ports to connect a monitor or tv much like our beloved Razr and USB ports for peripheral devices.
Outside of that it works pretty much like a Linux box, but with Jelly Bean!

Once they get the bugs worked out of XBMC for Android, this would make a fantastic HTPC - just hook up a 2 TB external hard drive (or a NAS), hook up your HDMI, and you'd be all set.

So basically, you connect this device to a TV or Computer monitor and it basically turns into an Android device? Essentially this is the hardware inside my phone that i can just connect to any Monitor???

Better than Roku - I have a Roku and love it, but you can't directly connect to the internet, so no YouTube, no browser. This seems to overcome that - and add all the benefits of the Play Store.
Looks like AliExpress is offering it for $67 ($5 discount if you pay with MasterCard).

Basically this gives you the webtop on any display you connect it to. Should have all of the functionality of a Droid phone or tablet without NFC, or a monthly service contract

No Lapdock
No Droid

Yes it provides 3 usb ports for keyboard and mouse connectivity, and the Hdmi port would be for your monitor. All of the newer Tv's and monitors have an Hdmi port. Might just have to find a HDMI cable

Ye

Yes. I have a UG802 which is similar. Full size USB port for keyboard/mouse/hub. Micro USB for power/ADB. The only drawbacks are buggy software and lack of code to get developers interested in better ROM dev.

That and no wifi no service. I don't see the advantage other than being able to hook up a keyboard and mouse.

I had been considering one of the Raspberry Pi's when they came out just to check it out. They were made with the intention of putting them in schools that couldn't afford to have computers for every student. The way I understand it they were for teaching coding to students. A noble endeavor at least!
