In recovery mount system when going from cm or any aosp you either gotta flash a 4.1.2 kernel or ROM then mount system and flash this rom

Maybe I should post more detailed instructions in op so people aren't so confused coming back from 4.2.2 ROMs.

I had this problem with the installing binary thing on RageHD (and I was coming from stock rooted).  I'm not 100% on what the issue was, but the process I went with was: restore rooted stock, mount system, factory reset (not wipe data), wipe system, wipe dalvik, go back to make sure system was still mounted (can't remember if it was or not), then flash ROM.

It seemed to go through fine after that.  If not, try the same thing without wiping system.  I'm not monkeying with mine again, as it was a PITA with the whole binary error thing.

One more thing (actually two):

I watched a youtube video, and it stated that the codec was not available to play it.  It was just that one, but it definitely raised an eyebrow, as I've never seen that before on an Android device in the youtube player.

Also, I installed 4 Pics 1 Word (just in case I get REALLY bored) and the overlay was an underlay, meaning after guessing each word, I had to go out of the program and come back in for the overlay to be visible.  Something wrong with this app, or something wrong with the O.S.?  Not sure yet - I'll have to try it on my daughter's hand-me-down phone (GNexus), but unfortunately, that's a 4.2 phone.

All my flashing was done with Safe Strap back then with 4.1.2. Now im with TWRP comming back from 4.2.2 If you wipe everthing you would think you would get a clean install of you new rom you load. Not true.  Iv yet to see a youtube or a wright up on how to mount it was trial and error for me. Key is to go to wipe/then advance and wipe everthing but sdcard. then go to mount/Check the system box. the back page back to install, and then install the rom. Not sure why system is not checked by default. Worked for me.

 Hope it helps.

Is there a way to easily toggle between pie controls and nav bar?
Thanks.

There isn't a setting, but you can dirty flash the original to go back to normal.

That works for me. Thanks.
Guess I'm too much of a spaz for pie controls. But if you ever make a toggle, I'm going back!
This rom is super stable! Thanks again!

Absolutely love this ROM, the PIE edition specifically.  But is there any way to get rid of the battery percentage in the status bar?  I searched this thread and have found a few comments but no real answers.

Edit:  Also the messaging app "dark mode" doesn't appear to work for me.  Aside from that, the only other issue seems to be the drop-down menus using the PIE controls.

Just want to check before I screw something up. I'm rooted with a locked bootloader on the 4.1.2 OTA update 9.18.79 (kernel 3.0.31-g101ca72). I can still install and use this ROM with safestrap, correct?

In response to my own question: yes this can be installed on locked but rooted 4.1.2 with the 9.18/20 updates.  I just did it with SafeStrap and it works.  Loading all my apps on with TiBu now.

I told you that yesterday on another forum lol.

I wasn't sure if my kernel (3.0.31-g101ca72) was any different than the kernel discussed here though (3.0.31-ge491d6d).  I wasn't sure if the crap after the dash was important or if just the 3.0.31 was all the mattered.

I can't seem to get the old Motcamera.apk to install on this ROM. I've tried several different apk's and methods. Any ideas?

I erased it on accident but, re-installing that version worked. Thanks.
