i just ran this on my XT926 Maxx HD. which had 9.20.1 on it from the factory, i had to get a warranty replacement due the screen crapping out, and the keyboard burning into the screen too. anyway it ran smooth, no errors or hiccups!!!

All - real quick, just got my replacement RazrHD from MOT and it shipped with 4.1.2 and 9.16.9xt926.verizon.en.us - it continually is asking to take an update.  Motocopper 1.2 will work correct? I need root.  BL unlock is not necessary.  Thanks so much.

No, use the original motochopper.

If you "need" root, then I would suggest unlocking the bootloader anyway.  There is no guarantee that if they update again that you will be able to maintain root.  With the bootloader unlocked, that is not a concern.

Sam - OP contains 1.2.  Is the original archived anywhere.  It will do Bootloader as well? ...correct?

Original Motochopper here:

Thats for root. For Unlocking BL, you need Motopocalypse. Which you can find on this thread:

Or if you Download Matts 1.21 utility, both exploits are contained in there

Matt's 1.21 Utility worked (finally).  I tried a few different methods to include running a MS virtual machine and going through it (real roundabout way considering it's direct and easier on a Mac/Linux.  In the end, the LinuxMacUtility.sh worked perfectly.  Thanks!

Updated OP for version 1.3  Should fix some issues mac users were having.  Functionally the same as 1.2.  Now inline with the xt907 version of the exploit, as well.  Only difference is the boot images contained in the packages.

Can anyone confirm this working and getting root on 9.20.1?

Many people have had it working.  9.20.1 is literally the same as 9.18.79.  It's a long story as to why it shows differently but you won't find a 9.20.1 FXZ, for example.  It's the 9.18.79 FXZ and will potentially show up as version 9.20.1 when you flash it, as it must have in your case.  Anyway, the root exploit works just fine on 9.20.1.
