[Q] Is there a difference between TWRP 2.6.0.4 & SafeStrap 3.11?

Safestrap 3.50 now uses TWRP 2.6.1.0 as it's recovery base:

I've got an XT912 RAZR (US/VZW) and I've been running safestrap 3.11 for a LONG while now and I was thinking about installing the latest TWRP version since switching up ROMS is now getting boring for me.

 

Has anyone got TWRP to work with an XT912? (Searching didn't reveal anything along these lines.)

Is there even a compatible version? (Haven't seen a "spyder" version anywhere.)

 

 ... and lastly, is this a very bad idea in anyway?

Safestrap is pretty much it for the 912..... Twrp and cwm will not work "... try not, do! or do not! there is no try..."

yeah, unless there's been some new revelation, there is no way to install TWRP or CWM on an XT912. The recovery partition is signed on that device and will only accept flashes from official images. Safestrap is a bootstrap recovery, it works a bit different than a true recovery. Accomplishes the same things, but is implemented differently.

I am new at all this.... I have Safestrap 3.11 on my razr XT912. Is there a installation guide, step-by-step, to update to 3.5?
