Hi all,
I'm new to rooting, but own four Android devices.
I am looking to root and further enhance my Droid RAZR MAXX HD.
I will probably need lots of help to start, but I am usually a very quick learner.

Every time I run the batch file, it tells me,
"daemon is not running. starting it now on port 5307,
daemon started successfully."
Then the program hangs and does nothing?

Are you typing adb devices? Also, did you set up environment variables on your windows pc? Do you have Usb debugging switched on the phone?Every time I run the batch file, it tells me,
"daemon is not running. starting it now on port 5307,
daemon started successfully."
Then the program hangs and does nothing?

that is very helpful but also not good news for you. that is the most current ota. some people claimed to have been able root it but i havent seen proof and the exploit for the bootloader has been fixed so that cannot be done. people are trying to find a new way to root so keep your fingers crossed

Hey guys. New to droid forums. Ive rooted a couple of my older droid phones, but never decided to modify further then common popular roms
I currently have the XT907 Razr M from verizon. They Killed my DroidX when they supposedly fixed the screen, but upon failure repalced the phone twice with a new problem each time. Decided the Razr M was a good replacement, and made sure to get it NEW!!
Currently looking to root and get some speed and battery life. so far everything is better then the droidx except for data speeds. 4G is utterly slow at times, but that is a region thing, not a phone issue.
I have no idea about currently offered roms and methods. I can say my phone currently has the newest verizon update from a week ago or so.
Looking forward to doing my bit of research in the aim of helping my poor phone!
EDIT I understand perfectly clear I may have to wait a while since my dumb@$$ decided to update. But then I wasnt looking to root when I did it. This is where the research comes in handy, by the time I finally decide the route I want, a new root method may present itself!

Hello! Newbie here. I'm at the ripe old age of 68 and still aging. Technology does not come as easy to me as it once did. So if I have some dumb questions, consider the source. That said, I have the Verizon Razor Maxx. Has been one of the best i have owned.I have it paired with ny Garmin Nuvi GPS and before the Jellybean update I was able to read and sent text via bluetooth until the update erased the MAP feature on my phone. I have been with tech support more than I wish to repeat and no progress in gettting MAP added back. So now If this can not be rectified I am open to any and all suggestions, including a different phone.
Thanks for listening.
Jim

It shouldn't have erased the maps app. They did do away with the navigation app - but all they did was integrate it into maps and remove latitude. I have gotten to where I use voice commands and just say stuff like "Navigate to Burgerville, Albany" or similar and it pops right up.
Sorry, But I was refering to Message Access Protocol! Allowing my gps to to read and send text via bluetooth connection to raxr. Update did away with MAP.
